I was just looking at Igor's list and only 15 VJ petitions approved since June 26th?

6 of those were December

What the heck are they doing?? :bonk::bonk:

they are probably working on their backlog which might be huge at this stage and not only I129F petitions but the rest too... really scary, I can't believe I say that but I am hoping I will make it for the X-Mas right now :(

Maybe they should send some of their backlog to CSC?? I've heard that they've done that in the past.

I really hope things speed up for everyone. If it's any consolation, it's seemingly taking much longer for the CSC to get approved petitions to the NVC and then for the NVC to get them entered. So those getting their I-129Fs approved from CSC should keep their patience hat on a bit longer.

I found a package heading to the UK this morning on DHL, so I hope our petition is in there.

I can't imagine how the February and March filers are feeling at this point.

they feel horrible..... :crying: especially since petitions around my date have already been approved at csc... but i guess you guys know exactly how that feels. how long does it take them to realize they can't deal with the backlog alone and send petitions off to csc? they seem to be on a run and i think they could deal with a few more petitions... the went through pretty much all of february within about 2-3 weeks :wow:

To be honest I would be actually worrying about them sending the petitions somewhere else... I can imagine how many RFE's will that cause due to lost petitions...I am just worrying about every single move in there at this stage...

I'm with you. I saw that a few files didn't go to the NVC and took a while to get redirected. At this point, I'd prefer VSC to keep the ones they have, but maybe forward all of the new K1s to CSC for the next few months so VSC can catch up.

Actually, the K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. This is why you have to adjust status. The K1 is a visa to 'lawfully enter the United States with the intention of marrying' . It doesn't give any right to remain and neither does it give you any immigrant rights, this is why it expires in 90 days after entry and it's a single use visa. You then have to adjust status to an immigrant to become a CLPR (Conditional lawful permanent resident) at which point you are then on an immigrant visa.

Yes...I know it is...but like someone who kindly told me here said, the consulates treat it like an immigrant visa, at least here they do. They have it listed on the list of immigrant visas which sucks b/c it means that we have to wait for the embassy to schedule our appointment and cannot do it ourselves (the non-immigrant visas have a website and call center to schedule your own appointments...)...so apparently it's because they assume that you are going to fulfill the requirements and do the AOS and all...the website where they list the wait times says "3 to 4 months" under "scheduling immigrant visa interview." UGH. All we can do is send an email requesting it and waitttttttt. And that's just for the scheduling of it...no telling when it will actually be scheduled FOR.

I'm thinking they certainly have to do something soon or the 5 month average is out the window!!

What is your RFE about?

Not sure, haven't received mail from Vermont yet. :(

I went through our petition the other night, and the only thing that I can see is:

On the instructions it says that if the name on the application is different than any of the other paperwork, then you must send in proof of the name change ie: marriage certificate. We only sent in our divorce certificates, so I am assuming they will want a copy of my previous marriage certificate... I have it, with copies, ready to courier to my fiance, if that is what it is!

Not only is Vermont slow... apparently the postal service is as well!

Do not mention the request until you talk to Tier 2! Just insist on them putting you through... if they ask why, just say you have a problem with the petition and only Tier 2 can help you
