Well I say congrats no matter what! kicking.gif I'm still waiting for our petition to be approved, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your visa. So what's the travel plan?

Well thanks! He's not moving for a month or two because we weren't expecting to get the visa so soon and I've been hanging around in Finland and not working for a couple months now. whistling.gif I'm heading home Monday though so it shouldn't be too bad of a wait after that.

Not working for a couple of months sounds great to me (and also being in Finland)! yes.gif I bet it will go quickly because now you guys are in control so its just a matter of settling things and deciding when to fly, etc. Very exciting indeed! good.gif

Here, here! The lack of control in this process is what drives me (and probably other people) mad. Having some of that control back is definitely a goal worth seeking!

I pray for the same. I am see that california is moving so quickly but vermont is still processing applications from Dec. It just really concerns based on personal decisions that has to be made in my own life. Of course I'm sure we are all there & at that point but i wish when we called them we could get straight answers instead of them reading from a script.

I know exactly how you feel. I was so naive to this process, I thought we would be to together in 6-8 months the most. I moved to a bigger apartment, started getting ready for our wedding and rearranged so many things to get ready for his arrival. It's over a year now and we are still apart and waiting. It's very difficult to manage or plan anything when your life is based on this process and even more frustrating when you can't get any answers.

Just stay hopeful and be positive

My fiance went home today after being here nearly three months. It broke my heart, but pretty much everyone here has been through it, and this will be the last time we have to say goodbye at the airport. I've been crazy busy with moving into my apartment and trying to get as much time with him as possible, so I haven't called USCIS yet but I plan to call tomorrow.

Congrats on the approval Jilianne :) Some of us, like me, are still waiting, but it honestly gives me hope to see a January filer get their Visa :) I hope to be where you are in just a few months.

Interesting...thanks. The weird thing is that on the Embassy's website for here, K1 is listed on the non-immigrant page...so that's why it's crazy to me! They themselves put it there and yet it's not correct..

Actually, the K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. This is why you have to adjust status. The K1 is a visa to 'lawfully enter the United States with the intention of marrying' . It doesn't give any right to remain and neither does it give you any immigrant rights, this is why it expires in 90 days after entry and it's a single use visa. You then have to adjust status to an immigrant to become a CLPR (Conditional lawful permanent resident) at which point you are then on an immigrant visa.

Congrats, Jilliane. I'm so happy for you. Reading some good news sometimes get my spirit pump up. I know for sure that all of us will be there and hopefully it's soon. After that let's have a party all the January I-129 filers. :D

Congrats! I hope everything goes quickly for you.

Hopefully this helps, but I would first go to the US Embassy in Jakarta website here to get further information on the process. I see their main # is: Telephone: (62)(21) 3435-9000. You also might want to post in your VJ regional forum - Asia: East and Pacific - for more specific information now that you are moving onto that stage. However, always keep us informed on how things are going for you since you are a January filer! Good luck

Thanks vosnmars. I wish you luck with your visa process. I'm sure will keep all of us in my prayer. :)
