sorry Knope2012 to hear about your card what scares me in the USA is that you guys don't use pin numbers when making a purchase... it's so easy to just swipe your card on a "fake" credit card machine and there, they have all your details ...

Couple with single factor authentication for online banking... yeah as much as I like the USA, the banking system is stuck in the 70's. It's archaic and more than a little bit frightening speaking as someone who spent a few years working for a bank and then into government IT

What you mention are likely contributing factors. Additionally, not everyone filing petitions with USCIS is involved in the VJ forums. There are likely other factors as well.

That is so true...I see the list on the right of visa approved and I swear it has not changed since I joined. I am really happy for Max &Flow approved in 5/3/12 but I wish I see different names. We all need hope and some encouragement to get through this..

Give them a call! My friend was approved June 11 and got her case number on Friday. I was approved June 13 and got it today. I'm under the impression that they are sent as one big package (from reading other threads I think I've gathered that info) and it takes time for them to scan them in. I told my fiance on Friday after I called that it's probably THERE, just they haven't scanned it in yet. The girl on the phone (very nice and lovely to me) told me that it had been input into the computer this morning. I just hate the long, long wait!

Knope, I'm sorry to hear about your card being stolen.. that really sucks. I hope your bank can get it worked out for you ASAP! And yes, the US Banking system seems to be stuck in the 70's. I went with my fiance to his bank when I was visiting and he actually went in and filled out a withdrawl slip... I was like "What? Don't you just swipe your card?" LOL.

We don't have to do any of that in Canada. We also have email money transfer in Canada, which is very convenient..

The canadian banking system is great ! So i heard they approved only 1 petition at VSC today this is very very frustrating !

Yep, that's exactly it. Actually they told me that early last week on the phone...that it might have arrived but hadn't been scanned in yet so I needed to wait longer than the 15 days--this was at like 20 days that she told me! Haha. But sure enough, a few days later, it was in the system. Now for the super long embassy wait.....kate&javi and I(us) are in for it there....ugh. Calling tomorrow since I emailed and they don't even know which part of the office is supposed to have it...the non-immigrant visa section told me they were forwarding my message to the immigrant side?! Ummmm?! Crazy...

Yep, that's exactly it. Actually they told me that early last week on the phone...that it might have arrived but hadn't been scanned in yet so I needed to wait longer than the 15 days--this was at like 20 days that she told me! They assume the conditions of marriage will be meet, so this K-1 non-immigrant visa is handled by consulates as an immigrant visa.
