Only thing about pretending your call had died is, do they keep little notes in a call system in case that happens and will they ask who you were speaking to? I guess if they asked who you were speaking to you could play dumb.

that's why she said she was on hold to speak to tier 2 not that she already talked to tier 2

I got through to tier 2 last time by pretending my call had died while on hold with tier 2 and asked to be transferred again. I didn't give them any reason and they went ahead and did it within the first few minutes of the call. *sneaky*

I may try this method. I am not great with confrontation. I would just say you didn't know who you were on hold with, as you were transferred right after connecting with Tier 1 and didn't catch the first person's name due to a bad cell connection.

OMG!!!!!! VSV forgot some of December filers. After 7 months they approved one of early December petitions without even a RFE!!!!! They are going back to December filers to check who were left behind. Looks like the time frame for NOA2 is going to be 7 months instead of 5 months. Lord have mercey this is unbearable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohhhh good thinking Sabi and Knope. Good idea! I'll try this tomorrow and just say my call dropped as the phone was ringing to tier 2 hopefully Knope and I can get service requests like you Sabi! thanks LorRenee for the idea!!!!!

Do not need use method to pretend. Just call and ask to be transferred to tier 2 rep. Simple and true as well it works. I did that to find out about my case. It stuck in USCIS at CSC and was not send to NVC. Waiting... I jut got letter today form USCIS stating that I contact them...

well as much as we would be happy for this to work (and in a perfect world I am sure it does), USCIS doesn't treat everyone the same way as we noticed on several occasions... You are talking about the stage when you already got your NOA2 also rules at VSC seem to be a little different apparently...

BTW I think there is a mistake i your signature, shouldn't it be 01/03/12 etc?

Well #######, after adding insult to injury... 161 days to RFE... I go in and update our VJ timeline and here we go:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 4, 2012 and August 10, 2012* (RFEs at the Vermont Service Center typically add an extra 30 days, which has been added to the estimated processing time).

I guess on the bright side... at least the petition isn't lost somewhere...

now that they've found it after 161 days!!

When did you get the email and letter after your service request? and what did it say?

Whoops! Little late on responding, but we got our service request on the 18th of May and the email on the 21st. Here's basically what the email said:

"Type of service requested:

-- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."

*We never got a hard copy letter, just an email. It's probably just an automated thing...
