I am setting my mind on a long wait... almost 200 petitions in front of us dated January 3-20 haven't been approved... what are the chances? I was always unlucky in lotteries, looks like not much is going to changed...

well we have been told to call back in 11 days and then put in a service request... I guess at that stage we will contact our congressman to do that for us... Terry will try to call on Thursday again and try to speak to tier 2 but I guess it all depends on how lucky you are to get through to the right person... some people are able to do a service request , some not... I would say it is weird, but at this stage it would be surprise if something wasn't weird...

we are on 165th day and counting...

Thanks Sabi :)

I was wondering about that... if they batch them into groups like that. It sure would be nice to know, and yes I was hoping the kids could start school with the other kids, but that isn't going to happen. The school year in our school district in Texas starts August 27th. :(

Call em up and request expedite for the sake of your children starting the school year at their new home.

I'm with you on the 165 days..I did call earlier and was told they are still working on 01/09. I told her I think they are just keeping it there so we can't call in and make complaints because this delay was done on purpose for whatever reason and now they don't want us to put in service requests.

Of course my representative and 2 senators are a complete waste of time and I get told weeks or 30 to 45 days before they can help or get any kind of response. So much for them. ranting33va.gif

Trust me L+T I have thought of that... but I'm not sure that meets their "Expedite Criteria" as posted on their website.

Ugh. This sucks so much for all of you!!!!!! Crazy. I am so glad to have the NOA2 behind us. There is still a lot of waiting ahead but at least that part is over. Still got my fingers and toes crossed for those still waiting.

I, on the other hand, will be calling NVC back again later this week--pretty late now with tomorrow being the holiday--and demanding some sort of answer. Really, mailing a pack of papers from one place to another cannot possibly take this damn long!

On another topic, I am working like a crazy person on all of the stuff we will need for the interview (we don't have packets here since there is no real mail system, so they put a list online so I already know what we must have at the interview...we don't send stuff in ahead of time, just take it all that day). So I have a question. My fiance was given lots of vaccinations as a child, most of them at school. THey give out these little cards that you are supposed to take home to Mom and she should save them so that you have a record......well, it appears that they never made it home and we have no vaccination record. It is possible to do a titer test of the blood now but I just called the best doctor in town and apparently that technology has not arrived yet (no surprise there!). So I have heard multiple things about having the vaccinations at the time of the medical exam. We don't need a vaccine record until AOS, correct? I don't think it's a great thing to get lots of vaccinations twice since I am sure he has had most of the really common ones....so I would prefer getting him to the US, doing a titer test, and then getting the vaccines that he needs. But I also don't want to have any problems at the Embassy, of course!!!

LOL... that would probably work... I just can't imagine going to those lengths to try and buck the system...

Although... the system is broken... hmmmm
