I'm considering calling USCIS today and trying for a service request. Someone filed after me, got a service request, and is already approved. Has anyone tried calling this week? I'm curious if they say they're past 1/9 in processing yet.

you know, the fact they got a service request, doesn't mean that they were approved because of that request... it is also possible they were already with the adjudicator but I would try and call them to at least see what they reply with. You might be lucky

6/21/12 Write to my Congressman

6/22/12 Called and put in Service Request

6/27/12 E-mail to DHS Ombudsman via FormDHS-7001

6/30/12 E-mail from USCIS on Service Request: "You should receive duplicate Approval Notice in 14 days"

7/2/12 E-mail from USCIS that petition has been approved.

Now it's on to the NVC and wait for our interview! Given that I have visited 8 times in the last 2 years, spent a lot of time with the family in the village, have heaps of photos, cards, e-mails etc I am optimistic that the interview will go smoothly. Thanks!

Including today we are now at 159 days since NOA1.

My fiance called his congressman's office today, (because I am just sick of waiting ).

They have an immigration specialist there... (Texas - of course they do... lol).

So he is filling out the privacy statement and faxing back to the specialist. I also spoke with her, she told me they handle everything in writing when it comes to Immigration... so I guess we'll see what the next few days bring.

Yeah that's a bunch of horse$@#t !!

Processing time of 5 months should be from start to finish.. I know it's estimated, I know it's an average... I'm just sick of waiting!!! This whole process is draining me... and honestly, making me feel quite depressed. I just want to get on with it... you know??

I know! I was excited for the first few months but right now I am sick and tired! And no its not about the wait! It's about the unfairness ! We are not treated the same way which I believe we should. I might sound selfish but at this stage I just don't care... This is not a service, this is a lottery!

I am also ready for NVC to take a month! It doesn't bother me at all! I am not going to complain or cry if the case doesn't reach the embassy within 2 weeks... I am well aware and prepared for that... I just want this part to be over, anything else will feel like a week compared to this ridiculous wait!

congrats on your approval. Just a little concern about my self and others who filed before you. Its hard to imagine you filed end of Jan and worst even got an RFE but yet, approve before half of us here. Dont mistake me, im happy to know there is some activity but its hard to believe. Even CSC filers getting better treatment than us. I sense some form of injustice here.........we all wanna be with our significant others without having to worry about leaving them not knowing when next

Thanks, i know it hard to see others approved when they applied after you, and i know you are happy for me, but i do get your frustration it is understandable. The whole system is very strange, sabi said ages ago and i think she may have hit on something...that there are different groups i.e people where either party have never been married, divorced couples and then ones with kids. I fit into the divorced with kids pile so maybe that is why ours got looked at before earlier applications. Really there is no way to know how they do it. My RFE was a mistake on their part not ours so maybe that also had something to do with it. And it is hard not knowing, but it will happen for you guys...keep the faith and keep saying " if it worth having it is worth waiting for!".....

Yes in the interview with the adjudicator he mentioned they like to process couples with kids as they get credit for EACH person , so approving one family with 2 kids is an extra those are processed sooner than others

I am happy you got approved now Neetz as at least your kids will be able to start school in September!

But here is hoping that so will Texas' kids too!

Day 167 and counting. I'm tired of waiting to be lucky. Emotions are running high for this whole process, and being over the 5 month mark without any way to speed things up isn't helping. My senator's aide said I can call her back 2 weeks from today, and if I don't hear anything, that's exactly what I'll do. I've contacted everyone possible and it just keeps getting more depressing.

yay, congrats! i've been thinking about you and wondering when you'd hear! you were the first to give us all hope, so glad you finally got the good news!

Cheers Kittylondon......well we just got lucky i guess being that we were the very end of Jan, but we are so happy! I guess that fact that the RFE was not our mistake may have helped, who knows!! This process is heart wrenching and not for the weak. Now we just see how long it takes to get to Dublin, i hope to have my interview in Aug and get to the US for the start of the school year, my daughter would like to start with everyone not go in month or 2 later but it will be what is, and we will just have to go with that!

Hopefully you get your interview real soon, UK is different than Eire, we can do our medical etc before NOA2 or case number so we are good to go once Dublin send package 3, keep us posted on your journey......
