It seems VSC is approving March filers...Great !

Are you talking about the person in this thread? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/375593-k1-visa/

It seems they filed a spousal petition, so different process for them...unless they have the wrong information listed.

Guys, I actually have a theory now since Knope2012's congress person confirmed those 30 days for adjudicator to approve her and gave her date 06/17 as a date her petition was assigned to the adjudicator....06/17 is exactly 5 months from when they got her petition, so I think it works this way: if the petition sits in a box longer than their processing time they get an alarm with a reminder and assign a box to someone, then that person has 30 days to finish it off as that would be the time when you go over the processing time. So my guess is that 5 months is the time that your petition needs to be picked by someone but not necessary approved on that day. They still have 30 days from then to get to it :) that's my guess but I'd say that might be right :) that's why photomile was approved 2 weeks after 5 months but still within those 30 days... And when his congressman rang USCIS they found out it was with adjudicator :) cause most probably his case was assigned to someone at the beginning of June :) That is also why they do not accept the service request saying you are within the processing time...

It's just a theory I came up with but pretty much makes sense I think... if we are approved by 6 months since they got our petition, that means it might be true... Of course we will always have a few "lost" petitions but the majority works this way I think :)

So we got a reply from our congress office. Apparently they sent us an official letter from USCIS that they got , saying pretty much what I told you that I figured out myself. So officially our processing time is 6 months not 5 ( it's 5 months and further 30 days for adjudicating) that is why they will accept senator's service request after that time only! So ummmm 19 more days of uncertainty! Good luck to you all. Hopefully this week won't be as quiet as I think...

Sabi, I hope you and all the other january filers who are still waiting will hear something asap!

You still can probably get the visa before me, VSC seems to be quicker than CSC to send the petition to NVC and London is probably gonna be as slow as they say it's gonna be....!!

In the meantime fingers crossed you all get a big approval soon!!! :)

Well, I dont know but it seems to me that they are playing on wording to gain time. Why publIsh on their web site 5 months if in truth it's 6 ? Processing time for me means start to finish...anyway ! Let's hope that it wasn't another b$&($ answer to get rid of us...I'll know for sure in 15 days !

Interview scheduled!! Got up at 4:00 am to confirm my sweeties medical date and then called for interview and purchased airline!! Could have scheduled it a few days sooner, but since i need flights for myself, my son and Lidia, it would have been about $1000 extra in airfare. We (hopefully) arrive back in USA together on Aug 2 or 3... cant remember now which day the flight arrives??

-Paul, you may be interested in my timeline for your own info. As you can see, it would have been possible to schedule this a week ago... But i didn't think they are so fast and people said wait 2 weeks from NVC. But by surprise, Lidia got papers even before this. Any chance you will cruise through Kiev early August....? We can meet up for a brewski.

well by processing time they mean from the moment they get your petition till the moment they pick it up apparently...you will never win with them ;) well the wording is funny, in that letter they use words no one understands and go on forever about what's involved bla bla bla... when all they had to say was: the processing time is 6 months! oh well we are apparently expecting miracles! :P

I think people say: wait 2 weeks from NOA2... from NVC once you have a case number it's a matter of a few days...

Are you buying tickets already? I hope you can change a date on them just in case... it is always risky to buy a ticket before you have your visa in hand, as there might be misspelling , not delivered on time etc...

Either way congrats!

ok... I need your help guys (especially sabi who knows loads abt medical).

You know that I am Italian but been living in the UK for 5 years, since I never had any vaccinations done in this country I went back to my Italian doctor who gave me a wee booklet with all the vaccinations done in my life (plus I have a hand written note from a private doctor for measles vaccination I had when I was little).

Now... I have just got the DTP done at my GP here as I think that is the only one I was missing and they used the same booklet, wrote the DTP, date and stamped it. Since it's all written in Italian... will it be accepted as a proof of vaccinations at the Medical or do I need a translation or certified translation of it?

What do you think shall I do? My GP said, oh as long as you have that it's a proof - I did ask her for an english version from them but she said it wasn't necessary...
