To be honest, i would prefer to wait for NVC knowing that one step is already behind me than still be in the position some of us here are... After 5 months wait, even 1 month wait for the case number doesn't seem to be that horrible as long as you know you're petition hasn't been lost somewhere...

I'm supporting Germany and Spain and that's going the be the final, sorry :P but Italy could win me some cash ( i picked Italy at work so i can win around €200) so i don't mind them winning either. Hope we are all over and done with this part of the journey by the time Euro 2012 is finished cause that's the only thing that keeps me going ... :)

Sabi, I don't know if you watched the game last night, but I was totally surprised we (Italy) passed!! Not that we didn't deserve it, I was actually surprised that we played quite well overall!!! Now Germany-Italy on Thursday!!

btw I won't be checking USCIS website this week (at least I'll try) as I promised my fiance I wouldn't so there will be no updates from my side this week. He said to me that if I don't check the status this week, we will be approved by Wednesday... Well I really want to believe him and have sth to hold on to, so I'll do my best to stay away from it. It will be tempting though!

Good luck you guys! It is our week! I just feel it! :)

You know what my fiance said when I told him we were approved on saturday? "I had told you we would get it by the end of the month!" So yeah, try and listen to him, it'll be hard not to check but it's worth a try ;)

I don't have much hope that we will get approved this week. I don't think anything will happen before the end of JUly for us. If NCV takes a month and its about 2-4 months to get an interview at the Montreal consulate, i dont expect to be in the states and married before 2012 ends....VSC don't care that we all put our lives on hold for many many months without knowing when this excrutiating process will be over...so for people who try to be nice by saying to be patient, i am tired of those comments !! We've all been super patient and will continue to be for a long while ! We don't need those comments, we need to vent and we need things moving or at least know what is going on ! Thanks for understanding !

end of July??? have you heard of a power of positive thinking? by venting you won't make things moving unfortunately.. I mean we are here to listen and help each other but we are also here to help each other stay positive and to give some sort of hope!

Have you contacted your congress person? rang USCIS and ask for the service request?

We did try to do a service request but they refused to do one saying they were processing Jan 9th so they were not late and that the computer did not let them ?!! My fiance sent the form to his congressman last week, hoping to received a call from them this week , so yes we did what we could under the circomstances and we try very hard to stay positive in this whole mess but we are realistic, we wanted to get married late August bit now we know it wont happen by the end of 2012...if we are lucky but we will prevail !! Would be nice to have a less slow embassy too !! :)

Well Katchoo, to give you maybe a tiny weensy bit of hope ... Montreal has been on the ball lately. On the Canada forum I read they are getting interviews within a month of the consulate sending packet 4, and packet 3 is going out quickly too! I've been looking at timelines too and most VSC petitions are processed thru NVC within the 15 days.

I do, I do. I'm staying positive... maybe just because it's Monday again. I dunno..:P

But when I read through some of the other forums and hear the horror stories, I am reminded that, although not a pleasant experience for us so far, some people have been waiting years to be together, even after they are married. Things are not that bad, when you look at the overall picture. It sucks being patient... but... it will come. My fiance once told me... when I was going through a very hard time in my life.. he said: "Don't try so hard, let it come to you". I wrote that on a big piece of paper and put it up on my wall... he had no idea how much that helped me at the time. (L)

As a cusp end of Jan/start of Feb filer also going through Montreal, this is extremely encouraging for us. We were hoping for September but honestly if it can happen by end of year we'll stil be happy.

I sympathize and empathize with all of you going through the torture that the ambiguity in this process forces us to deal with. Not that it helps much but when I'm thinking about this stuff and feeling powerless, I find channeling the negative energy into anything constructive helps immensely (like working out, or cleaning the house, or anything to feel more accomplished).

Then again, sometimes we all just need to vent :bonk:

Edit: just realized you submitted 129F the day before we did! :P
