Me too! I'm a Londoner as well :( I hope they are faster than we think they are. I won't expect much from them though.

As for the text notification thing, I filled out a form and put it with my packet and got a text with my receipt number when they sent out the NOA1. Surely if you call USCIS, they can fix it for you.... At least you would think but they can't even process your app in a timely manner and manage not to lose your app or anything in it so hey, what do I know?

Our K-1 Visa Journey

1/17/12: Mailed Original I129F packet via USPS with signature confirmation to Dallas Lockbox

1/19/12: Packet received at Dallas Lockbox

1/24/12: Received text message notification at 12:47am central time stating packet was received and our case number

1/24/12: Received E-Notification in email that I129F packet was being sent to VSC for initial review

1/27/12: Received NOA1 in US mail

7/12/12: Received text notification at 3:45pm central time stating our case had been updated *APPROVED!*

7/15/12?: Received NOA2 in US mail (not sure of this date)

7/20/12: NVC forwarded case to London Embassy

7/27/12: Fiance received letter from London Embassy stating they'd received our case and instructions for obtaining interview

7/30/12: Fiance mailed DS 156, DS 156K, DS 230, DS 157, DS 2001 to London Embassy

8/20/12: Medical

8/31/12: Called DOS and was told interview date: 10/3/12

9/3/12: Sent email to London Embassy requesting interview date be changed

9/5/12: Received response from London Embassy (via email) stating interview date had been changed to 9/10/12

They have some form you could fill out and include with your packet to receive email and text notifications before typy get the hard copy NOA1 in the mail. I can't remember what the form was called but if you look in the guide on here, that's where I found it. I found it in this guide when I put my packet together. Even if the retards can't do it over the phone, I don't see why you couldn't print that off and mail it in?

I didn't say in November, I said by November ;)

I'm hoping to leave Canada October 1st... not sure why, that's just the date I picked... :P I guess because enough is enough.. in fact I am so tired of waiting, the kids and I are planning to sneak a trip to Texas in for a few weeks over the summer.

I've been reading some different forums and it looks like some people that have May approvals from CSC are still waiting for their file to arrive at NVC. Did they fall into the abyss or what?? I sure hope they find them quickly, and I also hope the VSC files don't follow suit.

However, apparently the good news for the Montreal Consulate is that it appears to be on the ball right now. VJer's have been able to schedule K1 interviews within 4 to 5 weeks. I hope that continues through the next month or so too! PAALLEEAASEE!!! :hehe:

Yes. they succeeded in ruining the summer for many of us. If they can approve some of us this week, it won't be forgiveable but at least tolerable. We have another week like last week again...then God help us all. Because we'll be certain to lose the next week too. We'll have reached new levels of disservice. The 5 months processing time listed on the website is seeming like more of a cruel joke with each passing day. But maybe this will be the week. Hopefully VSC can straighten itself out...enough is enough.

Yes. I feel the same. It's very depressing. I am holding on to a little hope that this week could improve for us..But I just can't shake this bad feeling. I want to so bad. I just don't have a good feeling about things for this week or the week after. But I think it all comes down to us having to operate with so many unknowns. I just wish someone could explain what's going on at VSC right now. Maybe some of the immigration liasons at our Congressman's offices could help us get a clearer picture of what to expect from this point out. This week was literally our last hope to salvage a tolerable processing time. I honestly can deal with 160-165. Heck even 170 wouldn't be ideal but it's better than what we're looking at if they fail us again this week. I just wish it hadn't come down to this. There should have been a better way to appropriate the cases to finish in a timely manner. Hopefully we'll at least see some more activity, it's the lack of approvals that's most disheartening of all.

I'm wondering if the workers at vsc ever read these forums or would even care to. If they have any idea what effect their job has on so many of our lives. Be nice to give them an inside look at the people that hang on their work.

Oh no...........that is NOT GOOD to hear!!! Ugh. Tomorrow is 15 days since approval for us so I will be calling NVC again since they told me it can take 15 days for them to arrive.....gosh, if it doesn't get there soon, I don't know what i am going to do! The embassy here has been taking 2 and 3 months just to GIVE the interview DATE! Then it's a wait AFTER that for the actual interview.....ahhhhhhh if that happens, we won't even have the interview before we were planning to be getting married!!! My life is just so totally on hold right now that I feel like I can't even make plans to go do fun things...I know that I can but I have this mental block to planning anything until I know when the next step will be happening.....so I have NOA2 and it's great but it doesn't mean anything at all unless the next step comes along.......

So what can we do at the NVC stage if things take forever? Can congresspeople help out then???

Sooooooo I am sending TONSSSSSSsss of good energy out for all of us this week...for lots of NOA2s and lots of NVC activity!!!
