This is just freaking ridiculous that we cannot file a service request because THEY are late. What will happen if in a week or even a month they are still late ?? We want to file a service request BECAUSE they are late ! This does not make any sense at all ! I am so done with that #######

Hey everyone,

I'm Lena from Germany. Nice to meet you all :)

My fiance and I have also filed in January. Today, it has been exactly 160 days since they recived our petition. It is getting really depressing :(

Originally we had planned that I move late July/early August, now I will be happy if we get the NOA2 by July.

Congratulations to everyone who already got their NOA2! Hopefully they finish the rest of January soon.

Besides, if they are so late, how come some Feb filers got approved recently ? Nobody can answer that, not even them apparently !! They dont want to take my service request, fine, They will have Mr Congressman on their neck !

Yes. That's my next step. I'll initiate it next week. And hopefully when I get back from vacation this is all behind me. But looks like the 160s are the new average processing time....Scary thing is...At this rate...I hate to say it but people are going to be 170-200 day processing times easily (I'll explain in a moment). It's a nightmare. And unfortunately we were stuck to deal with it as January filers. Apparently they stopped caring about K1 petitions..Whatever is going on over there, the resources are not at all directed toward us. We've all officially entered Visa hell. And the worst part...July 4th is on a Wednesday this year. I can guarantee we will lose that entire week...I guess filing in January was the absolute worst possible time this year...might have been the worst possible time in a very long time. Said it before and I'll say it again. This is the craziest process I have ever seen. Never quite experienced anything like it. Just prepare for the worst now. I've done it. I'll hope for the best. But every single point of evidence indicates one thing. A very tough couple of weeks ahead..They're just not making any progress. 2 weeks ago they were processing "January 1st." Which puzzled me a bit since that was a holiday and a Sunday?. But I guess one can still have a received date on that day? That has confused me. Regardless over the past 2 weeks they have only made 8-9 days worth of progress (and even less if we don't count the weekends) That would be 5 business days worth of progress in 2 weeks excluding weekends. It's a very very bad sign.

I wend once to dominican... missed a bit of block on the feet they just fried. I was also crisp after day 1 and basically covered up the rest of the trip. That equator sun will get you totally. Seriously look into some 100 SPF and put on 30 minutes before you go out and also again later. WOW!!

That happened to me as well (but in Texas)! I didn't have any sunblock on my feet and I got 2nd degree burns on them. I couldn't wear shoes for 2 weeks and had to go to work in socks. LOL headbonk.gif

Indeed

I really expect processing times to update beyond 5 months in mid July for VSC. It will be impossible to maintain a 5 months processing time for VSC now. They literally threw away 2 months of time. We're nearing the end of June and so little progress has been made. Everyone after us has a very long long wait ahead. And I can only imagine how many I-129Fs are building up as they continue receiving them (especially this time of the year). It must be a sight to behold...Maybe there's a layer of I-129F boxes lining the walls of the service center now. Maybe doubling as extra structural support or insulation. God only knows where they're putting them all. Because they're not putting them out. It might even explain the random and sporadic approvals. If you get bored just grab one of these boxes off the wall. We got plenty of them ha. Scariest thing is that January is not a big month to file..They should not have had this much trouble getting them done. It's like they're waiting for a miracle or hoping the petitions just evaporate or we all cancel them? I really can't figure it out at all. We just need some good news for once..Because the sporadic and random approvals and the stagnant progress when it comes to processing dates is really wearing thin.

I was going to call today but I can't find my cell phone (lol, lost in our mess of luggage from Roatan) but anyway I'll probably wait until Friday to call NVC. I'm anxious and I don't want Tegus to take 2 months to even schedule his interview. I'm really hoping for an August interview as well!

Yea...I know!!!!! Ugh. 2 months for scheduling will be torture!!!!! I might try again on Friday...yesterday was 9 days and nothing so I didn't bother them again today! I read somewhere that people who have "been in Tegus" for business or whatever have stopped in to ask for an interview and have sometimes gotten it on the spot.......so maybe we will do that when we have to go and get his police certificate from down that way anyway....everything else is getting pretty close to ready and the rest of the paperwork I needed from the States was arriving today with a friend...so I am going to focus on getting every last detail ready and then we will go down for the police cert. and just "pop in" with some cookies LOL since they have to let a US citizen in, anyway! They probly won't let him in but I can walk in and ask...can't hurt as long as I am polite and bring treats, right?! ;)
