About the SSN,

I have one already but it says "valid for work only with DHS authorization"

DO you guys think they will let me keep that number&card and give me just a new one with no limitations? (Once I recieve the work authorization)

Anyone here who already has american SSN card?

You are all set, the number is for life and card does not expire. Once you get the work authorization, take to SS office and they issue you a new card (same number) without this restriction.

PS, if you want name change you must also bring the legal name change document (MC or court document) .. But same number even with name change.

How did you guys do it? I'm at 199 days and I'm about to lose my mind. Between CSC processing JUNE applicants and people from end of February getting their NOA2s. I am lost and forgotten. I've tried distracting myself and not logging into VJ or USCIS, but I just don't get it. Of the 53 petitions from 2/7 I'm tracking, 40 are done. Seriously, how hard is it to get to the other 10 for the love the almighty sweet baby Jesus, I'm about to go stark raving mad!!!!! cray5ol.gif

Any advice? No response from Congresspeople or Senators or Justin Bieber, nor will they allow me to put in a service request 'cause you all know this one...they are still processing "Jan. 16th!"

My fiance has e-mailed the GP's letter to the medical office in London and they've confirmed that they've received it. Hopefully it'll go to the embassy tomorrow!

Also, we just ordered our wedding cake topper! We're doing three mini cakes in different flavors since it's a tiny wedding.

Yes, the SS card was no problem. We waited because the name change is part of the Marriage License, and did not waste time for marriage. This saved the trouble of making the name change with SS. However, the card / number may be useful in advance if you are waiting a couple months for wedding. ie, if you need for driver license or benefits on spouse insurance. Lidia has foreign license good for 1 year in my state, and my benefits at work did not require the number to sign up...

PS, the think the issue with marriage first is only that you don't want the i-94 to expire before applying for SS card.

*big hugs*

I was just about ready to jump off a cliff last week :(

I read in some other threads that maybe some of the robots have updated to Feb 6? So it may be worth a shot and calling again. The worst was that every single person who I talked to about it was like, "Oh, just be patient... it will come" ... I swear, I wanted to (and STILL want to) tear their heads off. I just got that yesterday from my family- "now, do you really think it was worth all your sillyness?!"

Efffff.... OFFFF... LOL.

Mary, I totally understand your pain. We are a January filer still waiting, and even though we got an RFE, they have had our evidence back for more than 5 weeks now. The wait is very painful. We all paid the same fee and it seem's totally unfair.

I'm thinking about you and hope for good news for you soon!!

My (L) goes out to all of you still waiting. All I could do was take it one day at a time and I did cut myself off from look at any CSC or forum wide approval posts because it drove me crazy. All I did was get on this thread and the people here saved me. Do what you can to stay strong.
