Great news!! I had wanted visit Lidia sooner, but she wanted me to be there for interview... So we waited past her birthday, my birthday, and finally made it for interview and to see her. But i wonder are you going back for the interview. I heard the DOS in Russia started recommending the American petitioner come to interview. Is this true, have you heard this, are you going?

I spoke with the Embassy and they do allow the petitioner to go to the interview as well, and I would love to be there with her, but no, I'll be working. We had discussed me being at the interview, but she said she would prefer me to take a week off when she comes. Plus, we really needed this extra time together, and she needed a vacation. It also gave me the chance to ask her parents for her hand in marriage and we were able to have a very nice engagement party!! I even took marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate and graham crackers and we made s'mores for her friends and family!!! Enjoyed my first banya experience as well!!!

a question to you guys, still waiting: are your fiances/fiancees born Americans or naturalized? I have a feeling that we are being background checked for that long since Terry emigrated when he was 13 and been living in 3 different countries... right now I am just looking for an excuse for them myself... :(

they are not funded by taxes but mostly by our fees... :(

Nope, born us citizen lol

there wasnt any movement at all today @ VSC, its like they taking their casual time working on the petitions, no one approved from the jan list............this ish is crazy, i never dream i would be going pass 180, now its seems like 200 days for approval is a reality :help: :help: :help:. Does these peeps @ VSC even deserve to get tax payers money?

Approval next week will put many of us perilously close to the 200 mark...However, I guess the only thing that could be worse is that they were approving petitions, and we really were the only ones left behind. I just really hope next week can finally be it...Just would like to get out of VSC before August.. Let's just hope VSC - NVC can maintain it's current speed...would be nice for some luck after we get these NOA2s.

ok then I am lost

I'm thinking that they're just moving really really really slow...anything about the background was probably a stalling tactic at the 5 months mark...Today was certainly not a good day for K1s. Complete inactivity it seems. Let's just hope they bring some good news next week. 7-8 VJ timelines updated (for January filers) would be a great way to start the week...Are you listening VSC?

Katchoo,

We have just called NVC. They received our case and updated it in the system. It will be sent to embassy on Monday. They didn't give us a case # as Slovak people don't need it.

You might want to call today too since we have the same noa2 date

Just catching up on the day's posts. The lack of movement is horrible. RachAl, I'm so sorry about your petition being denied! Unfortunately, the USCIS customer line isn't the best resource, so they probably said you'd receive an RFE, but didn't really know if that would happen. I wish you the best on deciding what to do next.

Yes you are so right. I had it in my head too as a Plan B, but really didn't expect it to happen! It is just a change of course for our lives, unexpected, but that's life right?! I'm feeling a lot of things, shocked is still the most prevalent feeling. Literally have researched and read moving there is as easy as we get married, present our passports and marriage license at the immigration office, and i walk out with a residency permit and the freedom to work, no work permit needed. WTH!!!! Why is that so easy!! And look at all of us over here....slowly dying just to be reunited with our partners in the U.S..... ridiculous.

Enjoy a better life in Ireland - seriously! You can already see the differences between the Irish government, and our government, and why not choose to live a better life there? You might have a good job for now, but America is headed towards a terrible economic future, not too far from now, but most people aren't aware of that yet. I honestly believe this is a blessing in disguise for you in more ways than you even know.

If only the Philippines was half as decent in terms of stability, economic opportunity, and freedom from corruption as Ireland is - I'd be over there in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, there's absolutely no opportunity there, so we have no choice but to live in the US. I would be so incredibly happy to give up our K1 and move to Ireland together, what a dream!!!

Yeah.....that January 12th petition? That was us:(

Guys...why!? Why would we be denied?? What reasons could you be? We have no criminal records, nothing. The journey is over for us now. I cannot wait any longer. We must be together. I am gonna get everything in order to move to him and marry him there. Does anybody have any advice? I'm in shock. Complete shock. 6.5 months and a denial. I don't understand!

If I live with him there, can I apply for a marriage visa for the U.S. in like a year? I am certain I am going there. That's the only way. I pray no one else gets denied. What an unbelievable, horrible nightmare this year has been.

I came on this morning hoping to see some good news. As soon as I saw this my heart sank. I am so sorry this happened to you Rach, I cannot begin to imagine what you are both feeling, but I feel truly horrible for you both. I am truly at a loss for words other than to say how sorry we both are, and that my thoughts go out to you both.
