wish we could say anything sensible to comfort ourselves, unfortunately we can't... when I saw those petitions moving last week I was sure we were next...

BTW we are venting so much that almost everyone has disappeared from our January thread! I feel bad :( c'mon you guys! give us more good news and updates on your stage of the journey! medicals? interviews? Let's see some good news for a change! :)

Just checking in... i have high hopes every thursday since that's the day we got approved! Updates from London: Sara80 and i had some beers in the london sunshine last night and it was awesome! I thoroughly recommend meeting up with others in the same position, aren't there a few of you in Ireland? A get together might be very cathartic (and just plain fun!).

Cool!

Yes. It's a very unnatural process. And now all timeframes are out the window. One would think that the idea that any day could be the day for approval would make one relieved. But it only causes more anxiety and disappointment. It's the same cycle every day and it becomes exhausting for both people in the relationship. Thank god most of us are very strong. But this is very unfair.

its even taking a toll on the very strong. lots of frustration, its like we dont want to talk about the k1 petition in the nights on weekends when we know we dont have any chance of an approval. if we dont get approve by tomorrow, taking about the K1 petition in my relationship might become taboo

Yes..The last activity I saw around mine happened on July 11. a single approval on that date. (and recently an RFE response was received but no approval yet RFE July 2nd and RFE received 23rd))....The biggest activity around mine happened June 29th with about 4 approvals...So about 6 petitions have had some sort of action while 8 remain untouched. I would guess that there maybe about half way through approval of petitions received on the 18th.

Yes. I had heard something about that recently for England. What were some of the details?

It affects all of the UK, not just England. Basically, the UK citizen would need to show income of close to $30k without a co-sponsor, including any income that could be brought to the table by the spouse. If there are children, the income requirement goes up to a minimum of $35k (each additional kid increases the minimum by about $3800). Don't have $30k saved up? Well, the UK citizen can return to the UK to secure a job, but the spouse and kid(s) will have to stay behind until the financials are in place.

The non-UK citizen(s) would have to show their knowledge of the English language that is suffice to pass an official exam. There's also a history test involved that unfortunately doesn't include any questions about Mr. Bean, Eastenders, or Dr. Who. The UK citizen must show they can support the non-UK citizen financially (i.e. no public assistance) for 27 months. And that's just the "probationary period."

Yes. Just have to vent our frustration and hope this concludes very soon. I would hope it can't go on like this for much longer or we'll be reaching some pretty historic levels. Once most of us start receiving adjudication that average processing time on VJ is going to skyrocket to the 180s. The random approvals trickling in right now have skewed the data significantly. Things are much worse than they appear..the lack of approvals is concealing the severity of the situation. which is not a good thing...

Well here's some partial good news:

RFE that was sent on July 13th we got and responded to on July 18th. It was delivered on July 19th around 1PM, and yesterday morning they finally updated the status to RFE Response Review. In between the delivery reciept and yesterday I was panicking that they might have lost it or, worse yet, held it against me that I stapled the pictures to the TOP of the RFE papers, an not the bottom. I've heard of some people being forced to wait the 60 day timeout if they didn't put RFE on top, and even though the pictures were in a ziplock bag with the blue papers behind very clearly showing...well, after the RFE for faces being too big, I figured they'd try to extend the wait as long as they could

So now begins the potential 60 day wait for RFE response, but I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that, indeed, my petition is in human hands. My touched date prior to RFE was 2/10 so the bin we were in is likely not the same as any of those 2/9er touches from Jan.

It's extremely difficult for us still waiting not to speculate. I just hope for those getting to 180, 190+ days that this doesn't ruin the Summertime for you  Just keep calling, keep asking, keep checking with Congress-folks. NO WAY are we all giving up on things now. Right? RIGHT?!

Looking forward to your next numbers run, Sabi. The few petitions around mine are a smattering of NOA2, RFE, and some still under intial review.
