I have no idea...but on their Facebook page, there are many other people saying the same thing...somebody responds to FB really quickly but it appears to be someone who doesn't actually work there but can answer the questions. They just tell us to email and call again. One lady has been waiting for her husband's interview date since May and she is pregnant and due in August...so she will be giving birth alone b/c the August schedule came out last week. On here, some VJ members in Honduras have waited 3 and 4 months just to get the date which is obviously then another wait...I should have filed a year ago. FML. I am going to talk to a lawyer tomorrow...supposedly they have an "in"... :help: Yes, I have NOA2 and it's great--no more worries about that but now what?! Nothing. Not even a damn response. I actually live here and will move back with my man...so I may be taking a road trip to the capital with some brownies, I think!!!

yes indeed your situation sucks and I am truly sorry you have to wait that long but imagine now you were in the very 1st stage, still waiting for your NOA2, that would be a lot worse wouldn't it? You wouldn't know when will you be approved, not a clue about when will NVC get it and send it and then of course the long wait at the embassy stage...on top of that, the man you love would be thousands of miles away... Imagine that scenario and think about how lucky you are with what you have instead of focusing on what you could have if things were different... Of course what we see, depends on where we are standing but sometimes it just makes me feel better when I start thinking how much worse it could all be rather than how much better :)

Speedy response from your embassy! :)

yes , ours!

I hope so, you and everybody else.

I know we're a little later on in the process, but watching this is unbearable and I can't imagine what you're all going through.

I really hope this is over for you soon, I know I keep saying that it's at the forefront of my mind. I'm all out of ideas on what is going on, the fact that congressmen aren't responding to phone calls is a little concerning to say the least, one wonders what things will be like when it comes to processing adjustment of status. Sorry I don't mean to add more doom and gloom.

All I can really say is that there is an end in sight I just hope it comes quickly. I think both me and Lorie can safely say that by the time everybody is able to come to our little January filers meet, it'll be a big sigh of relief to see that we all made it.

Yes the silence is definitely scary...I haven't heard anything back from my Congressman either. The last word I got from USCIS was when I attempted to put a service request through on Monday (even though they are almost useless). Because they are processing January 16th..they said call back August 6th..ha! My attorney had no luck either. they've tightened up the service requests too. We're on our own it seems...Still just seems like VSC is not focusing on K1s right now...Saw a couple more February petitions slip through. but even that is very small in comparison to the number of both January and February filers still waiting..Glad to see some people are moving forward at least..I remember when I used to look at timelines and think wow 160-170- and my god 180 days is such a long time to wait.. tomorrow will be 190 days and my perspective has really changed now..never would have thought we'd all wait so long. Just hope all of us left behind will be joining you guys very soon.

Speedy response from your embassy! :)

I really hope that you do not take what I'm about to say the wrong way.

Your response to Beth's frustration is exactly why I have pretty much stopped posting in the January filers thread. I find myself reading this every day really hoping and praying that you and the others that are still waiting receive their NOA2s at lightning speed. I thought that this thread would be a place for everyone - even those who HAVE received their NOA2 and are waiting for their interview date - or even those who HAVE received their interview date - to talk and discuss any and all frustrations they might be feeling, as well as successes that they have in their lives. But it doesn't really seem to be that way, which is kind of hard because you know as well as anyone else that no one else truly understands how hard this process is unless they, too, are going through it. I do not post how frustrated I am with our embassy, how they DO take months to schedule an interview and how seemingly heartbreaking it is, because I don't want someone to chastise me for feeling those feelings. YES, it is wonderful to know that the first stage is behind us and YES, I hope that every single person in this thread gets their NOA2 really soon and can move to the next stage, but it's really hard to find some encouragement in a place where some people seem to put you down because their situation is not 'as bad' as someone else's.

To be honest, yes, both Beth and I are very fortunate to be able to live in the same country as our fiances. But our lives are also on hold waiting for the visa because we are overseas, which I do not ever complain about because it was the path that I chose willingly (and we live in a very dangerous country - which I never complain about on here because again, it was MY choice to live here). Try to remember that everyone's situation is different and we all have our own frustrations - just because we voice them doesn't mean that we are minimizing yours or anyone else's situation. I truly hope that your NOA2 comes soon.

I really hope that this thread can be a little bit more welcoming to other frustrations that are not related to the NOA2, so people can feel it's ok to post where they are in their process and feel ok to vent about something that is bothering them.

I hope I did not offend you in any way, that's only the way I've been feeling lately.

El destino me ha unido a vos.

I think VSC is caught up with some extra work bro...the good news is when they do direct resources back to K1s our heads will be spinning with the number of approvals. The bad news is...There is absolutely no indication when that's going to be....They're caught up in something big...The number of approvals right now is just so low. Even though we have some early February coming through, it seems similar to the slow down that happened at the end of December petition approvals. only thing is we never came out of it. I just hope someone notices the backlog soon . There's about 8 petitions around my own awaiting action. They remain untouched...And the last activity was July 11th for the most recently approved. They're just not focusing on K1s for whatever reason..

I don't know how accurate this is, but but from what this immigration lawyer friend of mine, there's a rumor that after Obama announced this new immigration reform that is going to go in effect next month (I don't know which one, all i know it involves the whole pardon thing) there's a lot of movement going on at the service centers, specially VSC. Perhaps theres a lot of people turning in their paperwork waiting for the law to pass...

There is a loooot of people filing i130s. I know atleast a couple

Sorry for such vague information, its all I know.

If you look on this thread at page 208 at #3106 post, I mentioned the context of an email I received from VSC to my Senator's office dated 07/09/12. Basically it said if I have not heard anything by July 20th, to make a formal request for expeditious processing for being out of normal processing times. I have called and faxed for congressional assistance for the last couple of days and no response yet. My mother told me today that nobody is a better advocate for you than yourself, so I decided to call the national customer service center haha :)

I initally got the run around about January 16th and I kept saying this is an email directly from VSC to my senator regarding my case specifically, not some generalizations. I didn't even have to ask for Tier 2, she just transferred me. I waited for about 15 minutes on hold and the guy was very hostile right off the bat. I told him I wanted to talk about expediting the processing of my petition based on the email I received. He kept saying I had to fit into one of those categories (financial, medical, etc). I kept saying over and over about the email and trying to read to him exactly what it said, but he was interrupting and trying to deflect me. He was putting me off and I finally said, "I want to make a request for expeditious processing based on being ONPT, does that mean anything to you sir?" He all of a sudden said okay, gave me a confirmation number for an expedite request and I should hear something by 08/09 (which happens to be my mother's birthday LOL).

I'm sure they will just deny my request, but I got farther than I have before and at least got to make the request. Here's to wishful thinking

Note: My senator's office just called me back and I told her I just made a request for expedite, but she said their office will still follow-up through their channels just in case my request doesn't make it. Well at least the senator's office is helpful. For all you Texans, call Senator Cornyn's office for help. The immigration assistant is Janie Skillman.

I absolutely understand where are you guys coming from, that's why I said "what we see, depends on where we are standing" . It's perfectly fine when people vent about their frustration and I don't think I ever commented on anything like that before but this time there were comments about how people would prefer to wait for NOA2 rather than having to wait for NVC or embassy's response...I was only making comment about that. In a quoted by you post, I was actually trying to show Beth good points of her situation, assuming that this is what we are here for, trying to make others feel better. I know that we are all selfish in a way, looking at our own issues but sometimes looking at how much worse it could be, can really make us feel better for a while at least. That's what I have been doing those past few days myself and I thought that giving that advice would help someone else to feel better too... maybe you didn't understand what I was trying to say or maybe I didn't dress it in the right words which happens to me a lot. If so, I apologies if you feel this way, that wasn't my intention...I'd rather stop posting here myself than making others feel not welcomed since I believe we are a one big family here...

I might look into contacting my Senator next if my Congressman is not successful (Not sure how much experience his office has dealing with immigration)....But congrats on getting that expedite possibly through Vosnmars
