Well we got the response in mail from uscis today. basically

saying they got the service request and that we will receive a decision

or notice within 90 days from july 9th... They just add days/ weeks/ months wherever and whenever they want...

Yes. It feels like we are dealing with the most psychotic system ever created...Service requests are and have always been useless, I wasn't too concerned that I couldn't push one through. Based on the information VosnMars received and prior experiences here Congressman and Senators are the best resource for some assistance. (However, only when approaching and beyond the 6 months point). What VosnMars said about the 5 months and 30 days has been stated before..Hopefully many of us can acquire an expedite now. Yesterday was a very weak day at VSC. Hopefully today is better.....Just baffles me what's going on over there.

1/13/12 - I-129F Petition Submitted to Dallas Lockbox

1/18/12 - Received at Vermont Service Center

1/20/12 - NOA1

1/24/12 - Touched

2/09/12 - Touched

8/02/12 - NOA2 (197 Days After Received at VSC)

8/14/12 - Received at NVC (Assigned Case Number)

8/16/12 - Departed from NVC

8/20/12 - Arrived in US Embassy Kiev

8/28/12 - Information Received from Embassy via mail

We had one of those A XXX XXX XXX numbers on our RFE too. (It say's applicant / petitioner A#).

Does that mean that eventually becomes my SSN # ??

Would be curious if anyone knows... :)

Your Alien Registration Number is issued by the USCIS and it is only used in your immigration process.Your SSN is provided by the Social Security Administration.Your A# will be put in your SSN as a reference to your legal presence status in the US making you eligible to be issued a SSN.

Sabi, you are so knowledgeable about all of this!! :) Thank you!

Ever thought maybe when you get to the US, that you could work for USCIS? You probably wouldn't even need training! Perhaps you could straighten some of these yahoo's out?? :P

hahahahahaha yahoo rulez! Well by the time I get there I'll know everything about this whole process...I could easily work for them as a supervisor to make sure people are being approved and treated as human beings.

Terry is laughing that I know more about the US than the actual American citizens like him :) well I have done the whole on my own, he has no idea about what's involved, I just tell him what to write and who to call haha!

Call USCIS and find out what is going on. It is strange though that you got a mail from NVC about simply receipt of your case. We have not yet passed this stage, but as far as I have read on VJ they only send you a letter after their process takes place to inform you that they have sent your case to the consulate. This is the reason why everyone is calling NVC every day to see whether they have received the case or not.
