Wow I went and read all that and I'm glad y'all handled it well. I do want to say, though, that this doesn't mean we should all go and bash February now based on the way they spoke to Paul, let's keep our reputation and be a good example, haha. ;)

Of course we are not! I get how people can get frustrated with others being negative... the thing is , it looks like being negative but after you hit 5 months mark you are just being realistic :) other than that peace and love :)

I went to see what is happening in the February filers thread and I have to say the way they replied to Paul86's posts where he only stated his opinion is really awful! I am so glad we don't treat people here this way...

It was awful! If they want to bury their heads in the sand and rely on blind hope while ignoring trends, power to them. I hope we all get our approvals in time, but it's not fair to be negative to someone pointing out where things are headed. And yes, 10 days does show that the system is broken.

And yes, 10 days does show that the system is broken.

Yeah and we have been called "haters"... well I can't imagine coming on here and state that the system is great cause I got approved quicker than anyone else laughing you all in the face! So not considerable! People wait here almost half year in pain and tears to read someone giving an advice on how great the system works and how we will all get approved when he/she knows nothing about the wait and what we've all been through..

That would explain why we are still waiting if people constantly jump in a queue in front of us...

I had to go read the Feb thread. This whole time I monitored VJ and read posts, I checked my case status a couple of times a day (until I installed that android app that checks it for me) and I just stayed as positive as possible. I like to see approvals of course (verse inaction), but after I started in that 4 to 5 month mark, I started thinking "anytime now". After hitting that 5 month mark, it seriously makes positive and happy people turn to the dark side. I really hope things go faster after approval. huh.gif

Those examples baffle me. I do have to wonder if it's because the country is Haiti. I've noticed others with shorter NOA1 - NOA2 timelines coming from Cuba, Dominican Republican or Haiti. I get that those countries aren't the tits, but I don't understand why they automatically skip to the top of the heap.

My fiance is from Haiti but were over 171 days already. People in the military usually get first place or maybe it was because of his missionary status???

Not certain if that would have an effect or not. I think the main thing is that VSC still has a large number of January petitions that they just haven't moved on at all yet. The attorney I used has seen the same trend with the number of approvals trickling in..That's what I tried to stress to the February thread. You can maintain optimism but should prepare for anything. It looks unlikely that approvals in less than 150 will be the norm for a little while. How long that will go on is impossible to say for sure. But it seems like when VSC has backlogged in the past, it persisted for a couple of months. The delays in adjudication have an effect on all petitions filed after. The effect is eventually going to carry down in some way because they will have to adjudicate these petitions at some point. 160 + is what many of our petitions are averaging. I've prepared myself for anything between 160-180 days now. Anything earlier will be a pleasure to receive. And maybe I'll land somewhere in the middle. Or VSC could shock us all this week and actually pull it together...The main problem is we've said that for 6 weeks now..But I guess we have to be right eventually?

I haven't read the February thread and I don't want to, but I thought it was HIGHLY inappropriate for that feb filer to come to the January thread and rub it in our faces that they already got their approval. I'm happy they got their approval but seriously????? Use some dang common sense. You can read this thread and see that we are all fuming and frustrated with no approvals and then to post that they filed in February and already got their approval and to include that we may find that encouraging?!?!?!? That's NOT encouraging and the more I think about it the angrier I get... I'm sorry but don't go to another thread and rub it in people's faces that you got approved when you filed wwwaaayyyyy after all of us.... Some of you have been waiting longer than I have and I pity you. I just pray that we start seeing some approvals soon.

My congressman's secretary didn't get back with me today but hopefully I will hear something from her on Monday. If its not good news, I will mention to her about our plight and see what they can do or see if she can refer me to someone who has more power and pull than his office.
