stay strong guys, it WILL happen.

we got our noa2 on friday and it was wonderful, and now we're preparing to say goodbye again until POE... andrew's flight is tomorow and all i want to do is cry. i know we have our approval and that is a huuuge step i'm so grateful for, but i guess the point is, we're all hurting in some way, and we all deserve friggin' medals for doing this! but in a matter of MONTHS we're all gonna be exchanging stories of arriving in the US and starting our new, permanent lives... this is what keeps me going. we really are at the very end of the marathon - especially for those like us, who did long distance for a good few years before getting engaged. we're all gonna be okay!

Yes, I noticed it recently. They must be planning to throw themselves into hyperdrive to get these petitions done. Everything cites 5 months and they are going to be having an onslaught of complaints if they don't get the job done. I'm still hoping this week is it for me...Today has got to be better however.

They probably know they can let things slide for a few weeks at a time, as the complaints will go to the operators, who can only read the script. However, if they were to get an onslaught of congressional inquiries for, say, January petitions, those adjudicating files could get in trouble with their supervisors if it was within their control. I think the next two weeks will speed things up, and with any luck, they'll get those petitions forwarded to the NVC very quickly. My fiance was supposed to go home this past Sunday, but we extended his ticket for a few more weeks. At least this way, we're waiting in the same country and he can help us find an apartment and get my things boxed up.

Yes. I will probably have my Congressman call next week. Friday will be 157 days after receiving my file at VSC (received 1/18 according to receipt). Monday will be 160 days. Enough is enough. I'm tired. It's unfortunate that there's so little accountability in this process. But hopefully this will give my adjudication the kick it needs to get finished. Maybe they'll surprise me this week with an approval. But I'm not counting on anything now other than the possibility that they need to be reminded to work on these files....It's crazy.

In Ireland you don't need to have a case number to undertake a medical examination, all you need is a passport number... There is a risk of course as the medical is valid one year but a lot of us here are willing to take it to speed things up once we are approved :)

Oh good for you there! Wish we could do it too in Singapore but they don't conduct medical exams if there is no request from the embassy, i already called many times:( That would speed up the process a lot!

Yes it is. According to receipt, mine was received 1/17, and I'm so tired too. Only one of the 10 petitions around mine has been approved, and it's way past time to get everyone waiting from January approved. It kills me that it only takes around 15 minutes on each file, and so many days we've had no action. I'll send in the form to my congressman regarding an inquiry on Friday. I just can't wait any longer. London is a slow consulate and I need to get into that slow queue as well.

Yes. It's good you'll do it too Knope. especially with the speed at London. I'll get a little luckier on the consulate end. But I think Photomile's experience pretty much confirmed that it might help to push it through if done at the correct time. We're at that stage now. There's nothing to lose. And I think it would just be comforting to know that the petition is with an adjudicator. It's horrible to even think it could be sitting around somewhere...completely neglected. This system has serious flaws. And we've seen petitions fall through the cracks. I'm not interested in being one of them.

I don't know if that means anything but one petition dated January 10 has been updated just now on USCIS website with the approval date June 15. I checked this morning and it was still pending before... Looks like their updates are not "up to date" :) ... that might mean that they approved some petitions yesterday but didn't update the system yet ;)

Exactly. We have to be proactive, and if our file shows that we called or filed an inquiry, I think it only shows how badly we want this. Something about the system needs to change. I'm fine (well, not "fine" but I'll manage) waiting five months, but I think all petitions should be finished within that timeframe. There's too much room in this system for some petitions to be left sitting for weeks or months. I really want to know my petition is with an adjucator.
