Also, my parents are going to have to be a cosponsor for me. Does anyone know exactly how long it takes to become a US citizen? Some things I've read say 3-5yrs and others said 10. I'm trying to pen down the correct answer so I can give my parents correct information.

Hey all! Another January filer checking in! I've been checking my case every day on USCIS. The wait is agonizing!! My case is at the VSC. I freaked out when I saw the web page too! But knew something was screwy because I'd read on here that some Jan filers have been approved. I really hope I don't get an RFE. Surely if I were going to they'd have sent it by now? I also have a "touch".

not really, sometimes people get thei RFE after 5-6 months of wait so you can never be certain :(

:( drats! I thought I was off the hook but I guess not. I think I'll be ok though. I put all of our evidence in chronological order and typed a page (in addition to a couple of paragraphs explaining our story) explaining each piece of evidence. I saw a post on here of someone saying to think of it as filling in pieces because the people who look at these packets don't know you or anything about you so you have to be detailed and fill in gaps/pieces so that's what I tried to do.

One more question. Is there a firm list of the required vaccinations you have to get? I want him to start getting the vaccinations because I know some of them take a few weeks to get for a series.

Yes, but you might want to head over to the UK subforums which has lots of information and check out Nich-Nicks thread here!

As for the RFE people get it sometimes because someone at the center lost some of their documents etc so to be honest you never know what it might be ;)

To answer your question about the vaccine we would need to know his medical history and age and profession.

As for me (I'm 28) the required vaccines will be:

1.Varicella but I won't need it since I had chickenpox when I was a kid

2.MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)

3.DT (diphtheria and tetanus)

Some people might need Hep B but mostly health professionals only...

If I am missing anything or I need a boost , the doctor will give it to me on the day of my medical for free.At least that's what I've been told by the receptionist ;)

Really interested to see if any more January approvals occur this week. Looks like VSC has worked through about half of the December timelines. Should be an interesting week ahead.

Someone taught me a trick today, if you are crazy site checker like me.... it is interesting to do. If you go to USCIS site you can enter your receipt number such as EAC1290270*** and it will give you your status... WELL the receipts are in order. So, you can change the last number and see what is going on with the people who sent in forms around the same time. For example I checked the 2 people before me, they still say waiting. The one right after me APPROVED!!!! and the 2 after that RFE!!! I am not sure I feel better or worse.... :bonk:

Ty for your help all! And @ Rayandmelissa, we have done the same thing. Few people behind us had new cards mailed to them lol I'm like you, idk if that makes me feel better or worse because you kinda don't know what those other people filed for.... I too think this will be an interesting week and hope to see more January filers approved!!!

Here's something that's slightly confusing about those numbers

Here's one from the list I have

EAC 12 900 20151

According to various sources on the web about the CLAIMS3 system, they say that the number breaks down like this;

EAC Meaning the service center

12 Being the fiscal year the application was received (This is a November number from 2011, but the fiscal year is 12

900 Is the computer workday in the fiscal year that the application was processed (From memory, this usually covers a few days, but there are also multiple computer workdays per calendar day)

20151 is the actual case number

That particular petition had it's NOA1 on December 2

This number however, EAC 12 901 20151, had it's NOA1 as December 16, I have a feeling that the format is actually EAC 12 9 012 0151

EAC - Filing location

12 - Fiscal Year

9 - Fiscal Month

012 - Processing day

and 0151 being the case number. Makes more sense, no?

The reason being that every time I go through these numbers, that seems to be the way it forms. the 012 relates to December 16-19, 011 seems to relate to December 13-15... I've probably gone through close to a few thousand petitions and this is the format that makes the most sense.

The good news is, that a lot of the numbers on my list for processing day 12, are showing as either RFE or fully approved. Most January filers were day 16. I've only got a small sample of the numbers. We're all close!

My God.... I hope we will start seeing some a lot of approvals this week. Up until two weeks ago I was handling the wait time very graciously (ok, 89.6% of the time), but this week I have become (slightly) nervous and very anxious!!!! Please Lord, let us all get NOA2's very soon!!!!!!!

It certainly is more difficult as you approach estimated adjudication dates! Hoping to see many December petitions approved this week and maybe a couple of Januarys in there too. we shall see what happens...
