Blinkered as ever, I see.

Afghanistan - eliminate Al Qaeda training camps - done.

Iraq - remove Saddam Hussein - done.

It was only after these occurred that the politicians tried to lose both of them.

The stated goals of the invasion of Afghanistan were to find Osama bin Laden and other high-ranking al-Qaeda members to be put on trial, to destroy the organization of al-Qaeda, and to remove the Taliban regime which supported and gave safe harbor to it. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are still there.

Not done.

The stated goals for the war in Iraq have changed many times, but include:

#1. eliminate al Qaeda (it wasn't there before, now it is.) Not done.

#2. eliminate weapons of mass destruction (there weren't any.) Not done.

#3. eliminate safe havens for terrorists. Not done.

#4. bring democracy and freedom. Not done.

#5. stop the civil war between the Sunni and the Shia. Not done.

Speaking of Iraq and unfinished missions, did we just screw the Kurds again? Without a strong US presence in Northern Iraq, it is just a matter of time before the Turks finish rubbing them out, and annex the oil fields.

But the Turks are our friends, they're members of NATO, and don't participate in ethnic cleansing (allegedly). They wouldn't do anything like that, would they?

If they attack our ally, Iraq, we have the obligation to overthrow their government and occupy them until they're democratic.
