I am going to wheeling va to marry my girl friend, first Ill go on tourist visa, can I apply for immigrant visa from inside the states ? and which one ? CR-1 or K-3 ? can I live in the states untill my green card is issued (if they will) ?

After you and your girlfriend get married, she will first have to file an I-130 petition with USCIS (filing an I-130 petition is the start of the CR-1 visa process {don't bother with the K3}). You will only be able to apply for a visa after the petition has been approved. You can only remain in the US as long as you are authorized to remain, when your authorization expires, you must return to your country.

Sounds like you are saying you never physically met your girlfriend before the wedding. I'm no immigration expert but i do think that would cause a red flag with USCIS.

You need to post your question in the right FORUM

so click on FORUM at the top right

then CLick on Fiance

then write your questions

make sure you edit your profile to show the BENEFICIARYS COUNTRY so your question will show up on the country portal. That way people can better answer you if they know each country has a difference in the process.

By the way--unless you are in a wheelchair---the requirement is you MUST have physically met in person in the last 2 years. So go meet her then apply

It would be better if you made your own thread about this.

You must meet in person, either prior to filing for a K-1 or to marry before filing for a CR-1 visa. Why can't she come to Egypt?

You can attempt to get a tourist visa to visit her in the US but it will probably be denied.

Otherwise, I suggest you meet in a third country, spend some time getting to know each other, and if you still wish to marry, you can then apply for a K-1 visa (or you can marry on the spot and apply for a CR-1).

You must meet, period. Even if both of you are wheelchair users, if you are able to fly, you must meet. There's no way around that. Once you've met, yes, you she may file a K-1 visa for you to come to Virginia to marry her.

This whole thread is a mess but I'd just like to suggest, PLEASE meet in person before deciding to marry. Knowing a person online is very, very different than having a relationship in person. And please don't come to the US on a tourist visa with intent to marry. That's immigration fraud and illegal.

No it's fine, you're allowed to marry during your stay there, and then go back to your country.

That's what we did. We've both lived Moscow for many years, but it was just so much easier to get married in the states, not to mention more pleasant! No comparison between the 100-year-old San Francisco courthouse and the Soviet-era ZAGS across the street from Savyolovsky rail station and public market.
