Hi. I would not be stressing out over the I-129F not being approved because the most important one got approved first (I-130). I was also going to do the K-3 but since my I-130 got approved first we will be going that route. Also, they already sent u the affidavit of support bill for the I-130 so it is looking good to me. So don't worry.

have a look at some timelines from a year or two ago. Our I-129F took 7 months for approval, and it was not touched that entire time. And back then, the I-130s were still moving at a snail's pace.

If your I-130 is already approved and you're in that process, you're well on your way to being together. And a lot quicker than has happened in the past, believe me!

Yep, its a pain in the ###, but it'll happen.

othman and lavon are so true in what they said. I would not worry about the K3 being slow in finalizing. I will say too, if you come on the K3 have you thought that you will not be allowed to work without permit? I know from what I am reading some of the Pakistani men are having long AOS and been here from Jan or Feb of 2006 and did not get AOS finalized until August this is K3. Other cases are K1s that are having long AOS times as well since they will have to do security checks. So you are looking at 6 months of idle time in USA and in most cases you cannot get drivers license with some of the new state rules, you cannot go to school, or work. Just some food for thought. Continue with the CR1 and think of the many blesssings it can reward. No matter what you decide wishing you good luck for the remainder of your journey.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Hi Reba! (F) Back in the day, when I was going crazy over the waiting, Reba, Darb and Zen were my support system. I was not handling the separation from my husband very well. I will forever be grateful for your kind words.

I'm petitioning for my wife.

I've had the affidavit for so long, but I was waiting for the K3 approval. I've had it for over a month.

After this, I only have the DS230 left, right? And I'll be sending the first part to the DS230? How does that work again? I mail the DS230 part 2 to my wife?

After that is completed, that'll forward it to the consulate in Islamabad.

Then Islamabad would give like a 6 month interview date, huh?

That's the reason why I was waiting for the K3, since you get the interview date like the next month.

Adil ! My wife got k-3 visa yesterday. It took few days less than 6 months. However the K-3 approval had taken long time and once the case was approved it literally took just few days before it reached islamabad. Aand the embassy in Islamabad gives 3-4 weeks for interveiw for k-3 visa but for CR-1 the interveiw dates are in Jan/Feb. I will not lose patience for the coming two more weeks. Best wishes

That's the exact reason why I want the K3 visa to be approved.

How long did it take to get approved?

There are so many people I've read about on this message board, who filed their I-129F for the K3 visa after me and theirs' were approved in August or September.

117 days and counting for me...

When was your I-129F submitted?

Dear Adil calculate like this:

If you send DS 230 part I now, it will INSHA ALLAH go to Islamabd in mid October, then the CR1 interview will be in Feb.

If your I-129F gets approved even after one month (end of October) The K3 invterview will be in November, INSHA ALLAH. So it's worth waiting for I-129F approval.

Look at tracyluis' timeline, she waited long time, but she has interview date for Oct.

Good Luck.
