Greetings everyone,

Me and my fiancée who is living in the US are planning to start the K-1 procedures , however I have some questions about our situation that I hope there would be answers to them . Well to start with , we've known each other for like 5 years , our romantic experience only started this year. Me and my fiancée are both still studying , no employment , still living in our parent's house , and we really need each other as soon as possible . so my questions are the following :

1- since my fiancée does not have an employment , can her mother file an affidavit of support on her behalf ??? our parents are willing to help us , but my fiancée's mother does not make a lot of money , however I may be able to provide enough money to show as proof of financial support .

2-We have never met in person but we know each other really well and we've sent letters, I have our chat history, SMS's and phone calls . We have not met in person due to some conditions . I would like to know if even without photos or visits record , is there any hope that the CO would accept the following proves such as History chat , Phone calls ,SMS , Letters , Objects received from her ???

I thank you, the reader for having the time to read my post , and I hope someone would help me by answering these inquiries and posting any helpful information about my case , I will really appreciate your help people .

Bless you all and good luck ,

One of the requirements for approval is that you have seen each other in person in the last two years before you file. In other words, you must meet before you start the process.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

We have not met in person due to some conditions.

Even though it's not common to have a petition approved without having met, you'd still have to mention those conditions, otherwise no one here would be qualified to answer when not knowing the circumstances. If they're already mentioned in your first post, then there's no grounds for not having met in the eyes of USCIS.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Morocco sits beside Nigeria as one of the most difficult consulates in the world to get a K1 visa from. Even once you've met in person, you're going to have a hard way to go with only one in person visit under your belts, and the CO is going to want to know where you're going to live in America. You say you're both still studying- are you going to just come here and move in with her parents and have them support you? These are the kinds of questions a consular officer will have.

Have her come to Morocco to visit you before you worry about the rest, though. You have a long road ahead of you.

Good luck

Sarah

I agree with the above poster that the CO is going to question where are you going to live once you get here if your fiance is still in school and only working part time if that. How is she going to support you? Are you planning on letting her parents just dish out the money and support you both while she finishes school. Hmmmm I would think that the Embassy would have already made a decision on your case before you even got the interview. Even if you got here lets say, you have to marry within 90 days, file for Adjustment of Status just shortly after costing $1070.00 (who's gonna pay this? her mom? Then close to 5 to 6 months later you will go for another interview in your AOS stage having to prove your marriage is not fraud. Meaning, you will need proof, like a lease in both your names where you live, bills with your names on them, etc. If you both live with her parents, how are you gonna prove anything? Even the U.S. Citizen is on the hot seat, as the CO wants to know how are you making money, how are you supporting your husband, etc.

I just don't understand why in the world couples want to marry when they have not established a career, savings, a home/place to live when they get here. This is what this WHOLE visa process is all about. Do people really expect for the Embassy just to give out visa's for immigrants just to move here and live off US Citizens ....No wayyyyyy....

Love doesnt Require much, but the USCIS and Consulates do, as others have mentioned seeing each other in person is a requiremt unless you have verified/documented/allowable reasons specific to your case which they would allow for you not to have met in person. Others have mentioned tough consulates, I would find others who have been in or are in a smiliar situation to you and see what they did and if they were successful. Where there is a will there is a way, it just might be a very long way. Good luck on your quest.

Okay good luck, but JUST REMEMBER one thing., you still have to meet in person before you start any process. Keep that in the back of your mind before you start anything....................................
