Package from London

Hi Everyone,

We have received our etter from the London embassy directing us to a link online and telling my finance to fill out the first 4 initial forms. Is this letter in place of the physical package 3 that I have heard about regularly during the process. I find this part of the process to be more difficult than actually preparing the petition was!! Frustrated, but we are almost to the end...I think!!

Thanks!

Lisa

yes the letter is what is referred to as packet 3.

when filling out the forms ignore what they say about attaching a photo and any other documents... just return the forms and nothing else.

you are almost there now... good luck

UK forum is where you need to be http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

There is no "packet". Instructions are here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

There's 3 basic steps.

  1. Fill out DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-230 Part 1 (page one and 2 only). Mail those to the embassy. Forms only, no evidence, documents, passport photos.
  2. Order your police certificate, get your shots, make a medical appointment. Take shot record and police certificate to medical.
  3. Gather all documents for the interview and get them in hand. list http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html. Then notify Embassy that you've done everything and are ready to interview by sending in the form DS-2001.

From the instruction page there are many links on the left about the medical, courier, interview, visa fees, FAQs. Sometimes there will be links from those pages on the right for more information. Read ALL of the links. Ask questions in the UK forum because each embassy is very different. You want London answers, not Manila, Juarez, or Mumbai.
