My fiancee is from Ukraine, and I'm wondering about form i-129F, quesiton 16. If your fiancé(e)'s native alphabet uses other than Roman letters, write his or her name and address abroad in the native alphabet.

Should this be in Russian or Ukrainian? She is from the eastern half of Ukraine, so she assumed Russian. But maybe Ukrainian would be more official? Your thoughts?

Either. Both use Cyrillic alpahabet. Does not matter if you use Russian or Ukrainian spelling.

By the way, we want your fiancee in the avatar, not you! :P

Copy it directly from the passport.

Ukrainian passports use both PLUS English. Passports do not have addresses.

Either language is acceptable for USCIS or the Kiev consulate

Excellent! A proper and classically elegant Ukrainian beauty she is! The best kind. Congratulations, we are here to help.

Update your profile and timeline, add her country of origin and you will be able to go to the "Ukraine Portal" by default. Just click on "portals" at the top of the page. That will take you directly to a page that shows ALL posts by ALL Ukrainian members on ALL topics. It is a quick way to access Ukraine related information for the interview, etc., plus various Ukraine related news items.

Also here in the RUB forum (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus) we cover a lot of topics on the care and feeding of classic Ukrainian beauties!

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

We used how it was in her passport. Good Luck.

Welcome to the RUB. We have all gone through what you are just starting. Get familiar with us and ask lots of questions. We have good solid answers and a lot of fun too.

The spelling in the passport is always the best, but don't forget to look to the expiration date first. You might need to renew her passport, in which case the spelling will change from Russian to Ukrainian.

Good luck and be patient.

Slim and Gary are correct. Take it straight from the passport. Even though Tanya is Russian her "American" INS name is forever Tetiana not Tatiana... :o

Thank you, I noticed the changed. The women are generallyour "better half" when it comes to photos.

She can change her name when she does her citizenship.

I cannot take any credit. It is obvious I leveraged my relative economic advantage to entice her from her Post-Soviet hell.

Oh, by the way, she spackles, too...
