I definitely will!. I called the lady from the news today and she is extremely interested in what happened and I am doing a skype interview with her sometime next week, whether that will go on the news or not I'm not sure but it appears as though she not only wants to run the story but she also wants to help me in my situation.

Hi everyone,

As some of you may know if you have read my previous post I was refused entry from the US not too long ago because I couldn't prove enough ties to my home country to visit under the VWP for 83 days. The officer that dealt with me was extremely flirtatious saying that I should "marry an immigration officer because I would have no trouble then" and saying that I would have "way more fun with him" than my boyfriend. Well I thought that this was probably something that they weren't allowed to do but just wanted to move on with what I was going to do next....today I received an email from this immigration officer saying that he hoped I arrived safely and he hadn't been able to stop thinking about me since I left. I'm not entirely sure where he got my email from but you do have to put it on the form when you enter and I did have to write it down about 2 other times when they were processing me. I have told my boyfriend and he's quite angry about the whole situation and he wants to do something about it, probably going down to the airport and making a complaint. I'm just wondering if anyone has been through a similar experience and if you have, did you take action?, did anything happen? I'm just a little bit worried about the fact that I complained making visits to the US more difficult in the future....But on the other hand I don't think any immigration officer or anyone who has such authority should be allowed to talk to anyone the way that he talked to me surely it's important to just do your job....

The closest experience I have that compares to this is when I was working

for 411 @ Verizon. Another operator was on a call and the customer wasn't very

nice to her, so the operator wrote down the customer's number and after her shift,

started calling this customer in the middle of night and threatening her.

The customer called her local police and Verizon, an investigation was started, and

the operator was sacked.

Your situation could turn creepy, if he has your email, who

knows if he got ALL your information and starts stalking you?

What happened to OP should not have happened in first place, OP has done right things letting chief immigration officer know what is going on and what his boys are doing and if new wants to broadcast they can.

OP keep us posted on wht happens on Monday.

The telephone operator I spoke of was in California.

The customer was in New Jersey.

This immigration officer could be doing all sorts of

creepy stuff with her information. If he has access

to databases or whatnot ... he could find out all

sorts of info to potentially wreak havoc on her life.

Hi everyone,

I apologise for how long it has taken for me to respond here but everything has been quite slow moving. I have had my interview with the news and they are now arranging to interview my boyfriend. Another immigration officer has also been assigned to my case and has been emailing me but all of his questions are things such as "did you ask for his phone number?" "did you give him your information without him asking for it" and I feel very very angry because his emails basically imply that they are turning the blame on to me. There is a reason why most women don't come forward in situations like this because it always gets turned around on the woman. I don't think they understand that he is supposed to do his JOB not taking anyone's contact information even if it is offered to him, that makes him unable to be impartial and therefore unable to do his job correctly. *sigh*

Wow. You know..I would report that line of questing as well.

He was wrong. Not you. Make sure when your boyfriend has his interview with the press that he includes the way you are being questioned now.

Stick with it.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thank you so much for your support, it's quite a difficult thing to stick with as the situation is difficult enough to deal with let alone having people blame you. I keep trying to reassure myself that even if any contact information is offered to him he shouldn't take it so surely there's only so much blame they can put on someone. It is a little worrying to think that he has access to mine and my boyfriends files though!.

What he did was wrong. Just because he had your contact information in the line of doing his job, does not give him the right to use it! I think they are in behind covering mode, you know, the CYA thing. One of their employees has been a bad boy, and they are doing what they can to shift blame to the innocent party, and forget the entire thing happened. Good for you, for holding them accountable

These situations can very easily turn into a 'blame the victim' scenario because it means the higher ups don't actually have to deal with anything. They need to 'man up' and deal with the inappropriateness of their employee's actions. I think it's good the media is involved (is it the U.S. media?) and I would keep the emails you are currently receiving. I can't remember if you have a lawyer or not but it might be good to do a consultation with a lawyer familiar with sexual harassment in regards to this matter. Try and keep your head when responding to the emails and continue to state matter-of-factly what happened and do not try to explain his actions or feelings. If they ask you why you think he did this state you do not know and cannot explain what was going on in his head. If he has been asked about it he very clearly is trying to put the blame on you for his poor choices.

Again- consult with a lawyer that specializes in sexual harassment.

Good for you for taking a stand. We're all behind you!
