On form I-129F, question 11, it asks if I've ever filed for another alien and if so to write the alien's name, place and date of filing. I've filed before and so what I want to know is what is the official date that I filed? I'm looking on my NOA1 that I received last time and see two dates: Received Date and Notice Date. Which would be considered the official filing date?

Also, when I sent mine in, they re-routed my petition to the Dallas Lockbox. I assume my filing place would still be Vermont Service Center, but I just would like to run it by you guys for confirmation. My NOA1 paper says Vermont Service Center, so am I correct in assuming that the VSC is the place of filing?

Thanks!

I would go with the date they received it.

The I-129F instructions tell you the address to send the petition to. All petitions are mailed to Texas and it has been that way for awhile now. Texas receives the petitions, checks through them, cashes the checks and sends them off to either California or Vermont for adjudication.

Thanks for the reply. Back when I filed my petition, it was during the transition and it was still telling us to send to Vermont Service Center but all petitions were being sent to the lockbox in Dallas. So for Place of Filing, I would put Vermont Service Center or not?

Thanks!

Yes. Texas just receives all of them. If it went to Vermont for processing, then put that. I think it is safe to list whatever is on the NOA1.
