My Fiance has been living in London for two years now with a Student Visa. So I assume at the time of his interview, it would be in London. Who has gone through the Moroccan Embassy there...? and how are they about relationships that start online. Help. Advice. unsure.gif Just trying to ask about some of my concerns before I start the process. To get an idea of whats to come. We thought getting married first would be less difficult. I just don't want to phyche myself and get worried before hand. And I'm also looking for info on how much income you have to earn for your finance to come and be with you for those 90 days and or sponsorship. I was evening considering a lawyer but from what I've read on here... it's not always a good route to go.

God Bless.

Thank for any response.

how can the Moroccan Embassy in the UK assist you?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

If you apply out of London, it will go to the american embassy there or the case will be transferred to the embassy in Casablanca. There was a couple not too long ago that was in a similar situation out of France and initially got their interview in France and then got transferred to Casa. If I remember correctly the visa was denied. K-1 or CR-1 both require you to prove you can sponsor the applicant except the K-1 does not require to commit to sponsorship until after you are married. He is from a MENA country so all online romances are scrutinized heavily.

Because he is living there... I don't think he'll have to leave school, fly all the way to Morocco for the interview...?

You're confused. Applicants for visas to the United States are interviewed at the US consulate or embassy, regardless of what country they are from. The Moroccan consulate would be for a non-Moroccan who want to apply for a visa to go to Morocco.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

do you have any prior info on this specific help, from the Moroccan Consulate in the UK? That'd be useful, if you can share that here.

It depends. If he has resident status there then they usually would. However, when someone has temporary resident status (like a student visa), and they are from a high fraud country (like Morocco) the embassy sometimes requires them to return to their home country for the visa interview. The US embassy in Morocco will roast him over hot coals before he'll get a visa out of them. The US embassy in London won't be nearly as brutal, but they also won't treat him like an English citizen. Spend some time in MENA (Middle East & North Africa) regional forum and see how applicants from Morocco are usually treated. Your chance improve considerably if you know the worst that could happen, and you're prepared for it.

It could happen that he gets interviewed there sounds logical but the only similar case I read ended up getting transferred to Casa. Living with him is good to establish proof of a bonafide relationship but for Morocco getting married after the first visit is a red flag. Do visas still get approved yes if you can prove strong legitimate relationship. This would include leasing together, sharing bank accounts and insurance policies, owning property together etc... My husband and I for example had a strong case and we were on administrative processing for two months before they issued the visa 13 months after applying. I don't mean to sound negative, just trying to be realistic. The process could be arduous.

Good luck,

Oh no I appreciate your help and advice. I know with countries like these, things can be a bit more difficult. I wonder if he can apply for a US Tourist Visa to visit while he is in the process of the K-1. Or come visit before we even start any K-1 processing. I just don't want to do anything that will get in the way when we are ready and decide to start the process. And also spending time in Morocco is another idea for us, visit his family for a bit.

MENA forum, for country specific questions, is here. Keep in mind your case, if interviewing in London, will be quite diferent as interviews are very country specific: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/

Moroccan portal is here- it will bring up all posts made by Morroccan members, useful links etc: http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Morocco
