I imagine that it follows the same pattern as it does for the I-751, though I don't know that for sure

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f858d59cb7a5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

However be careful what you wish for. Last year when we were petitioning I-129f, Vermont was 2 months behind California (I was a Vermonter!). Who knows which will be faster by the time your petition is processed.

I live in New Jersey, and mine went to California. Go figure. So is anything accurate on the USCIS website?

My guess based on what I see here is:

West Coast - California

East Coast - Vermont

Problems starts with states in the "middle earth" :P

Well then I guess New Jersey is on the West Coast??? Wow! My Geography is all wrong! LOL My form went to California.

Before they changed things and started having everyone send the petitions to Texas, this is how it went:

California Service Center Filings

File Form I-129F with the California Service Center if you live in:

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.

Mail your Form I-129F package to:

USCIS California Service Center

P.O. Box 10130

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0130

Vermont Service Center Filings

File form I-129F with the Vermont Service Center if you live in:

Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Mail your Form I-129F package to:

USCIS Vermont Service Center

Attn: I-129F

75 Lower Welden Street St.

Albans, VT 05479-0001

It seems they now stick to that sorting for the most part, but maybe send some to whichever processing center is the least backlogged at the time? Or maybe they just go, "eenie meenie miney mo" :P

I made the same mistake thinking I'd be processed in Texas, but my lawyer today told me that only Vermont and California Service Centers process the K-1 at this time. She also said that from time to time they'll shift around which office handles what type of application. Maybe that's why.

I pray to God every weekend,

that TSC will never, ever, process spousal-immigrant visas ever again. It's a righteous f'up, each time they try.

So it's my understanding that the Dallas lockbox sends it to Vermont or California based on where you live. Is there a map or something that shows the dividing line? I'm pretty sure mine will go to Vermonth, but I'd like to be sure. How could I find this out?

(I haven't sent my i-129f yet.)

I don't think there is any map or any way of knowing were your application will go. Seeing that I live in the Chicago area our's went to California. My best guess is it all depends on how busy one is over the other.

Also, I think there's an explanation of why so many people on VJ put TSC as their Service Center. On the editing timeline page, this is written:

"Service Center:

List ORIGINAL filing location; even if

petition transferred

for K-1 Applicants where you filed your I-129F

for K-3, IR-1, and CR-1 Applicants where your

I-130 was processed (if filed at the Chicago Lockbox

they will transfer the petition to the correct Service

Center and mail you a notice stating where it was sent)"

While it's well explained for K-3, CR-1/IR-1, it is very confusing for K-1. I think it should be written "for K-1 Applicants where your I-129F was processed (if filed at the Texas Lockbox they will transfer the petition to the correct Service

Center (California or Vermont) and mail you a notice stating where it was sent)".

Maybe in the past, people sent directly their petition to CSC/VSC/TSC/NSC?

Thanks I'll change my TSC to CSC..
