I checked the DHL site Thursday after the interview and it shows picked up in Cairo and destination Alexandria.

The CO told husband he will be in AP for 14 weeks in Washington so why does it show it was picked up from the embassy and final destination alexandria.

Why was it picked up already?

Does the passport go to washington?

Thanks for any help or answers you can give

Here is his interview embassy review

Approved with 14 weeks of washington AP

Husband was at embassy at 7am in a suit and tie. So handsome! and there were 100 people in a line waiting. My daughter and I were with him but they said there is a new rule of no american petitioners allowed inside the embassy and the beneficiary has to go alone. We walked back to the SHepheard Hotel and waited 4 hours and 45 mihnutes for his return.

He went into embassy at 735am He was number 628. He waited 2 hours to be called to egyptian lady speaking arabic. His papers were in a yellow folder and a yellow sheet of paper was on top

She asked one question. How long you been married.

He went and paid DHL

He waited another 2 hours

CO was a american woman light brown hair with glasses

She asked many questions.

Were you married before?

Was she married before?

How did you know you loved her?

What is the evolution of your relationship?

Did you ever travel to usa or anywhere before.

Does she have kids

Did you meet her kids

Did she meet your family

Did you have a wedding party-asked 3 times

DId your dad buy her any gifts-asked about 2-3 times

SHow me your favorite picture of her with family-he showed us with his parents in a thick photo album.

When did you first meet

How long did she stay on her first visit?

Did she come to egypt to meet you only or visit egypt and you

How many visits did she make

When was the last visit?

She then said Congratulations on your visa and she handed him a Full length white sheet of paper with nvc number and embassy website

He said Am I in AP?

She said What?

He said Am I in AP?

She said what is AP?

He said administrative processing

She said yes

He said in Washington or here at the embassy?

She said in Washington

and you can track it with this number in 14 weeks.

She kept his passport and never offered for him to take it with him.

I checked DHL immediately when back in Alexandria and it showed picked up passport in Cairo and destination will be Alexandria. This must be when he paid the DHL fee around 930am and they will probably change the destination to Washington in a few days.

His full white sheet of paper did not say 221G. It spoke of AR and never said AP. I do not know how long it will take but we have no other choice but to wait.

There's no reason to send anything to Washington. At this point all you can do is wait and check what he receives in the mail. Given the interview was yesterday, I highly doubt is an issued visa. It may be a letter or returning something from the packet... who knows. Maybe his medical?

Keep your hopes up, everything will be ok. I have the funny feeling there's a misunderstanding and she didn't say "14 weeks" or "Washington" AP. I really hope it flies by!

Good luck

I have 5 possible scenerios

1. passport empty--they want him to have it until ap is done

2. papers returned that they forgot to submit to him.

3. Denial letter stapled to his passport-sent back to uscis--i am sure it is too soon for this.

4. error on dhl site and it will be corrected sunday

5. Visa in Passport-miracles do happen

Thanks everyone for thier emails and thoughts. We are staying positive. Just really curious as to what the heck is going on.

and I might have many months of this researching left to do. UUgghhh

His English is level 4 so I am sure he understood but I hope she said accidently 14 weeks instead of 4 hours...LoooooooooooooooooL

Hi, They kept my husbands passport after his interview and he received it after 10 days from the embassy with his visa in it. Nothing to do with Washington, it was received from Cairo through DHL. He did call the DHL office often to ask if they had a package for him, they took his phone number and they actually called him when it arrived at their location. DHL was very nice with him even after he bugged them so much :) Good Luck to you!

I do remember when I checked the DHL website the same day of our interview and it did say "shipment picked up" and the destination was ALEX: (Sunday, November 27, 2011 Location Time

1 Shipment picked up CAIRO - EGYPT 08:57) Apparently it means that your husband "picked up" the DHL receipt.

I apologize for neglecting to tell you in the original post. This would've helped calm the speculation. It's just a standard message whenever the tracking number is entered into the DHL system. It's very confusing! From today on you'll read "Scheduled for delivery as agreed" whenever they touch your case up until they're ready to mail it. Then it'll say "departed facility."

Keep the faith, I truly believe this is a misunderstanding. Nerves can betray us at anytime, even if you're a native speaker!
