Where exactly am I in the process?

I just wondered if anyone can clarify where I am up to? I received my biometrics appt. for I485 which is on Monday January 23rd. Then I received a notice that the case had been transferred to CSC on January 11th. I assumed this would only happen after biometrics but am pleased about it nonetheless.

Today I received a second biometrics appt letter for EAD on 02/08/12. I assumed one biometrics covers all but do I need to attend both?

Thanks in advance for any help and light shed....

We got our biometrics letters in duplicate, but it had both cases on the page. I have seen a few other reports where they somehow got separated and got two separate notices. Just take both notices to the first appointment, and have them scan both letters. There is no need to go to both appointments, but do bring both letters. Good luck!

Thanks Harpa for the biometrics advice. But what of the CSC transfer before biometrics. Have you heard of this before?

Yes, I have seen this before. I am not sure when the decision is made to transfer the file to CSC so I wouldn't know what to make of it. I would think that the decision to waive interview (send to CSC) is made when an IO looks at your file with the notes from the K-1, and the biometrics is sent out when your local office has an opening. I am not sure the two time checks are even related.

Note: Your EAD and AP applications are still at NBC, and the I-485 is at CSC. Your EAD/AP will be approved independently of your GC. I know for sure those two are not related.
