Can someone please help me with this issue. We received our NOIR letter pertaining to the CR1 and have until Feb. 5, 2012 to respond. I plan on sending the response 1/22/2012. I am overnighting the package so they will have it on 1/23/2012. I was informed by USCIS that this process could take up to 60 days from the date they receive it. So that will push the date out to 3/23/2012 before we hear something. My question is about my husbands medical exam. It expires on 4/28/2012. If we get approved for a second interview and he receives his Visa before the expiration date of the medical exam will he only have until the date of expiration on the medical exam to exit the country he's leaving from? Any help would be appreciated.

The medical exam is for entering U.S. This is not a requirement for exiting his country.

I think the 2nd interview will require a current medical exam also.

11/21/2011 - EP request and DS-3032 to NVC

11/23/2011 - EP came and DS-3032 accepted

11/23/2011 - Submit I-864

11/28/2011 - Paid IV Bill

11/29/2011 - Submit DS-230

12/05/2011 - Case completed

12/08/2011 - Interview date set

12/11/2011 - Medical exam

01/11/2011 - Document intake day

01/12/2012 - Interview - Approved

03/09/2012 - POE - LAX

The medical exam is for entering U.S. This is not a requirement for exiting his country.

I think the 2nd interview will require a current medical exam also.

ok I think I understand. If the exam has not expired before he gets his Visa it's ok. If it expires before he leaves then he would have to have another exam correct?

The validity of a visa will not extend past the expiration of the validity of the medical exam. However, the Embassy does have the discretion to require another exam regardless.

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Thank you this was very helpful. I think I will have him to get another physical before the next interview just to be on the safe side.
