No. Bring it with you anyway since presumably it has your visa, etc. in it. Obviously if you want to travel soon after your interview then you'll want to renew it anyway.

You are confused. This is an AOS interview. The OP already has a visa and is already in America. They are going to an interview for AOS (unless they have posted in the wrong place). They need to bring their passport to show their visa and I-94 but it does NOT have to be unexpired.

No, you are wrong my friend. Please don't use a big font to shout the wrong answers. Since people want to argue about it - people have AOS interviews with expired passports all of the time. Some countries won't let you renew your passport abroad unless you can show authorized presence. Some people can't show that, especially people who have overstayed. Some people apply for AOS after overstaying for years, having no valid passport at that time. There is no requirement to have a unexpired passport.

Please note - this is the AOS from other forum, and the OP is not getting a visa; rather, a greencard.

So, back to my original answer, No.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

^^ Correct. Going through a similar process. You MUST bring your passport. Whether it's expired or not doesn't matter. Your visa, I-94, and entry stamp are in there and that's what the officer will want to see. Not the expiration date of your passport.
