That is funny, I have a packet 3 from Vancouver and it does not say that. Were you born in Canada? If you have a Canadian passport, then you're a citizen so I don't think they would need anything beyond that. My packet 3 just says to go to the website and download the check list.

You could email them to be sure, but I would think what ever people prove to show they are a citizen/landed immigrant, would be all they need which would be a passport I'd think.

Hi there,

When I called the NVC they informed me that our case was sent to Vancouver on the 3rd of Sept. I have not received anything in the mail from either the NVC or Vancouver. Neither my fiance or myself have received anything in the mail since or NOA2 dated August 20th. I completed the DS-160 online. Once it's submitted do I need to actually send the whole form again via e-mail to Vancouver? Or just the bar code page?

I haven't sent the checklist back yet (even though it's complete and I'm ready) because I haven't received any instructions from anyone telling me to do so. I e-mailed Vancouver early last week and read somewhere that it usually takes them 2 business days to respond. I haven't heard anything back. On the CEAC it says my file is ready to make the appointment. Should I send them my completed checklist now?

I'm so confused because I keep reading about people sending documents to the NVC. Please help my brain. You guys are awesome!

Hi there! Our interview was yesterday and we were APPROVED!

An interesting thing about the interview was that the Vancouver Embassy information says the fiance can't attend the interview, but mine came up with me and we did the interview together, no trouble. In fact, because he was there, the consular officer didn't even want to look at our proof of relationship documenation and he approved us after what felt like a quick 'getting to know you' kind of chat.

It was nervewracking, but the process itself was very smooth and easy! Time to start packing.

In your second email with the attachments, are those scanned PDFs of the completed packet 3 checklist and full copy of the DS-160?

I just sent the barcode page of the DS-160. They did not request the full copy and we proceeded to packet 4.

This is a super late response, but I figured I'd answer in case this happened to someone else~

I was born in the Philippines, and moved to Canada when I was 2, so since my information stated I was born there, I guess they just required me to provide proof of citizenship. E-mailed them back with proof, and they confirmed they were sending over packet 3. No problems. :)

Thanks for the help!

Hi!

I know my case is too early to ask this question but I am trying to prepare the documents in case i get NOA2 ( trying to be optimistic  )

I do not have any vaccination record. In my 4.5 years in Canada, I never visited a doctor, clinic or a sort (knock on wood, I do not wish to get sick). From what I read, on the medical stage, it is required. How to go through with this?

I appreciate your answer :) Thank you in advance (L)(L)

At what stage does one pay for the visa application? When you go to the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center on CEAC, you are asked for an Invoice Identification Number. Am I correct in assuming this comes with Packet 4?

Your IIN is something gotten from the NVC.

Not sure when you get it as a K1.

For K-1 I never received anything to pay the fee, I just did it when I got my packet 4 and booked the interview I believe. Once you set up the account on the CEAC there will be an option to pay. Then just follow the steps. It was pretty straight forward. Really, you can do this as soon as you have completed the DS-160 I guess since you would then have everything you need... I waited until I got the Packet 4 though since it came so quickly.

The Vancouver consulate was super disorganized for me. They were my least favorite part about my visa process so far.

It was frustrating actually. They would give me a fax number for their doctor and say it was a phone number. I had to google his number myself. They had no phone number, sometimes they wouldn't respond to emails or really answer my questions....ughhhh hahahaha. :)

They made me wait about a month to schedule my interview due to them changing their computer systems. Once it did change over, It had quite a few bugs. I was transferred to two phone numbers, and two emails but eventually they got it sorted out haha. One thing would get fixed and then I would click through to the next step and another problem would arise so I'd have to get back on the phone again or email them.

The actual interview though I was in and out in less than an hour. Most of that was security and wait time. The actual interview was like 10 minutes. Pretty straight forward.
