We can finally answer the call of our RFE, the tax transcripts finally came through. Must have been a while due to the fact that IRS were going through their annual maintenance deal. I'm double checking that this is the right thing because the last thing I want to do is get it wrong again! Our RFE stated this:

Word for word it asked:

====================================================================================================================================================================================================

Submit all supporting tax documentation (W2s, 1099s and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service IRS from the petitioner/sponsor on Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the most recent tax year.

The household member on the petitoner/sponsors's Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, must submit the Federal Income Tax Retuns submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year.

====================================================================================================================================================================================================

We received what I assume are the right things at least I bludy hope. We received a "big letter with a bar code on it" or at least that's how my wife describes them. I haven't seen them as they're at another mailing address (ours isn't very reliable). So to clarify, we applied for tax transcripts for the sponsor and co sponsor we've eventually received a letter that has a bar code on it. Is this the right thing?? And secondly is this ALL I need to send i.e. don't need W2 or anything else just send the transcripts along with the RFE letter back to the stated address?

We've been waiting for a long time for this and to be honest are at our wits end I need this to be ok so I can just send everything away. I dread the through of having to look at more tax stuff. I still don't understand why we were RFE'd in the first place -_-

Sorry for any grammatical errors I've very ill today.

Hmm.. our transcripts don't have a barcode on them

There is a cover letter stating basically " here is the IRS tax transcripts you requested on ___ " Then says used for personal use only etc etc.

Then it has 2 pages behind it with lots of itemized things and numbers - has our names and address on the top.

Our other year has 3 page list of itemized things and numbers with the same cover page on top of the 3 transcript pages.

Has sort of a look to it as if it was typed on an old fashioned type writer - that kind of font you know?

I'll need to get a look at it. I'll deal with that today.

The first page looks like a cover letter, and as Inky said, it states "here is your irs transcripts..." all the papers have duplex print (2 faces.) The first page of each page has a small QR code on left hand. Some pages are intentionally left blank.

They will say "Tax Return Transcript" at the top of the first page.
