Direct Consular Filing of DS 2001

My Fiance lives in BKK. If available, I would like to have her go in person to file the form DS-2001 with 230, photos, copy of passport. Anyone know if she can go directly and do this? Or must be done through Post Office.

Also, about these conflicting reports of her copies of everything up front???

The police clearance will not be in hand for 10 days, the I-864 is in the mail about 3 more days. Hoping she can file 2001 now to get interview appointment rolling. Anyone know if she must have copies up front?

Learn & follow the procedures. They require the P 3 info which triggers the P $ or interview date. Incomplete info will result in confusion & they may just throw it out.

You indicate sending an 864. That may be ok but they ask for a 134 for a K 1 case. Hopefully you sent at least one years tax transcript as well. If not I suggest you do so by fax or scan it to your fiance asap.

Plan on interview date to be about 60 to 90 days after submission of P 3 info.
