Expect to be questioned by the CO but the main thing is to provide lots of proof of a bonafide relationship and ongoing relationship. It also depends on which country your coming from. Please update your profile to show the country of the beneficiary.. there are countries that do frown upon that more than others.

I do see you posted in phillipines... Im sure someone from that region will give you really good information. good luck!

Actually we are on the same boat, i met my fiance may of 2011 and visited me last november and got engaged. We already filed the petition(k1 visa). And still waiting for the NOA2. You will just prepare everything that will support your relationship and how will u answer the questions. I guess it's not a question how long u've been together, the important thing is ur relationship is genuine and if it is, you dnt have to worry. Goodluck to us and god bless.

My wife and I met online and chatted for only 2 or 3 months before I flew there. I stayed 32 days and we were married while I was there. I don't think she was ever questioned about it but we had tons of evidence when she went to the interview. I think, from our experience and reading here, that how you present your evidence is as important as what you actually have. If you go prepared and confident it speaks volumes. My wife was only asked a few questions and they only looked through a couple of pages of photos but she went with a file folder that had 5 or 6 binders full. Your courtship time doesn't matter as much in the Phils as it would in other countries.

I didn't travel back, we just kept very good records of online chat, remittances, etc. I sent chat logs and video captures dated twice a week for the entire time. She was never asked to see any of them headbonk.gif

The requirement is to have met in the past 2 years. There is no Law Stating more than that.

Sure, more visits with proof add to the Case/Validity. But is not required.

What is asked for is proof of a on-going relationship and meeting other USCIS Guildlines.

Other countries are very strict where meetings are concerned - Vietnam for one. Only one meeting there is very questionable and could (most likely will) cause a denial. After 3 years here on VJ I can say I haven't seen one case denied from the Phils for a short courtship/meeting.

In the Philippines you should not have a problem. As stated earlier by the time you get to the interview it will be over a year. Keep good records of the time you communicate, email, chat, phone, video, etc. Unless there is an economic problem that prevents it, I would expect to see some kind of contact between you two at least every other day. We had several hours per day every day of logs. But they did not even look at ours.

It will be surely ask by the CO. I am also on the same boat. I met my husband April 2010, got engaged May 2010, married July 2010 (his first visit here for 21 days). What I did during my interview were to tell them the truth, gave/showed them all original documents, showed pictures of our wedding with friends, relative etc attended the wedding. Be truthful of whatever questioned they asked. Is your husband filing for a CR1? Since you're married for about 2 yrs.If all documents (origina) we're complete and sent then you will not be having any problem, so as your husband. Reach out to me if you need any help.

I think you have nothing to worry about. Like others said, just provide them with tons of evidence of your relationship. I met my fiance (now husband) in October of 2007, he flew to the Philippines on Feb of 2008, we got engaged on the same month and he only stayed there for 10 days. My k1 petition went well and didn't have any problem with it. Good luck

Your situation is very common for the Philippines. As long as you have good evidence of relationship you should have no problem. If your fiancee can attend your interview it would almost guarantee approval.

Good luck.

EAbbas, this will not be an issue in the Philippines....

Our TimeLine:

Oct-2008 - met Anna online

Jan-2009 - flew to the Philippines, Married Anna

Apr-2009 - Filed I-130 for Anna & Gabby

Nov-2009 - Anna & Gabby landed in Chicago

We married during my first trip to the Philippines just days after meeting (Landed on Jan 16, Ceremony Jan 21, Official Marriage Cert Dated Jan 30).

Look at our timeline here and find Anna's interview review, she was just asked a few basic questions.

We had a couple of Joint Bank accounts, State Farm bank & BCU (Baxter Credit Union) allowed me to add her to my account while she was still in the Philippines and we opened a Joint account at BDO.

She was the beneficiary on my Insurance policies. These were included in the I-130 filing to show bonefides.

For the interview she had cards that I sent her, phone logs and photos (including screen caps of video chats) but wasn't asked for any of it.

Be sure to have your CEMAR in addition to your NSO Marriage Contract for the interview.
