Hi everyone! ^_^

First off, I'm NEW to all these visa/petition stuff so please be patient to me and to all the questions I'm going to ask. I have a good friend of mine already helping me on my case but I still need more questions to be answered so he suggested this website to me.

-My fiance and I only met through an online game and months later fell for each other and started our relationship. I heard that the immigration office is really ####### on how you and your fiance met and how long you two have been dating. Since we met on an online game, I wonder if our relationship is going to be questionable?

-We met in person last december(2011) and spent the whole month together so we have tons of pictures of us together. I also have print screens of us talking on skype everyday for the last 10 months as proof of communication. Are these enough evidence for our relationship or do I need more?

-My fiance is a filipino citizen but he works and reside in qatar. I'm really worried that him being a citizen of one country and residing and working in another country is going to be a problem (esp. things are not really good in the mid east right now).

-How long does the process normally takes from filing to finish? I wonder if he'll get his interview done before the end of this year if I file the papers on march or april?

I still have a lot of questions in mind but those are the only ones I'm really concerned about right now. We've only been dating for 10months and we were only together for a month, but I still miss him everyday. It's really hard to have someone you want close to you to be half the world away... I know you guys know how I feel. I want my petition to go as smooth as possible so guys please help. Any advise would be very much appreciated too =) Thanks.

Welcome to vj. Yes you have enough evidence. As fas as how long? That depends on immigration. My fiance lives in one country and is from another. As long as he has legal residency its ok. Make sure he sends you a letter of intent to marry with an original signature. Good luck

No, the consular officers who will conduct the interviews in Manila are not overly concerned about how you initially met (meeting online is very common in the Phls). Length of relationship is also not a concern. Having good evidence of relationship will be needed for the interview (but not for the initial petition filing).

Many people meet online these days. So not to worry! :) It sounds like you are very well off to a great start in filing for your petition and ultimately your Visa. I started my process last May and we are still waiting. So if you are anything like I was, the sooner you get started, the sooner you are together, forever! :)

Good Luck!

:guides: They are loaded with great information, and may answer many of your questions.

Processing time start to finish of this portion of the process, maybe a year total. Keep in mind, this is not a sprint, it is a marathon.

Good luck.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

as long as you have evidence of your relationship, you are fine. As for him living in Qatar, as long as he has legal residency in Qatar he can go through the embassy there and Qatar has been pretty stable during the Arab Spring, doesn't look like anything will happen. As for the K-1 Process from start to arrival- it really depends - ours took 1 year, some people take more, others take significantly less
