YouTube Freezes Palestinian Media Watch Account, Pulls Fatah Video Calling for Religious War with Jews, Born of ‘Apes & Pigs’

Palestinian Media Watch is an organization whose stated mission is to monitor, translate and disseminate all forms of media broadcast by the Palestinian Authority. These translations, videos and transcriptions showcase a steady stream of virulent anti-Semitic and anti-Western sentiment, often with direct calls for physical violence.

Many believe PMW offers a valuable service as it provides key insights into the way the PA thinks and operates. Now, however, for at least the second time, PMW's YouTube service has been disrupted after the watchdog group uploaded a vitriolic Fatah video in which Jewish people are referred to as "descendants of apes and pigs" and the PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein calls on Palestinians to "kill the Jews" no matter what "rock or tree" they "hide" behind.

Of course, the hate speech and calls for violence do not come directly from PMW. PMW merely translates and disseminates what was already produced and broadcast by the PA.

YouTube administrators have deemed the most recent upload as "innaproriate," and have subsequently removed the video from its site and frozen PMW's user account. This is not the fist time YouTube has taken such actions against PMW and the exact reasons are unclear. Some critics say YouTube has bowed to pressure from Islamic special interest groups.

An article published on the PMW website explains:

In response to yesterday's PMW video-bulletin which showed the PA Mufti's speech that Muslims' destiny is to kill Jews, YouTube has frozen PMW's account. All PMW videos are working except this one but the account is frozen and PMW cannot upload new videos for the next two weeks.

We have uploaded the video to a different server and it can now again be viewed from PMW's website.

The video that YouTube is calling "inappropriate" exposed the Palestinian Authority Mufti citing the Islamic tradition (Hadith) that anticipates Muslims' killing Jews as a precursor to the Hour of Resurrection. The Jews are also called the "descendants of the apes and pigs" by a Fatah moderator at the event.

The Blaze, through PMW, has obtained the video depicting the PA Mufti's call for murder which aired on PA TV (Fatah), January 9, 2012. The translation follows below:

Moderator at Fatah ceremony:

"Our war with the descendants of the apes and pigs (i.e., Jews)

is a war of religion and faith.

Long Live Fatah! [i invite you,] our honorable Sheikh."

PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein:

"47 years ago the [Fatah] revolution started. Which revolution? The modern revolution of the Palestinian people's history. In fact, Palestine in its entirety is a revolution, since [Caliph] Umar came [to conquer Jerusalem, 637 CE], and continuing today, and until the End of Days. The reliable Hadith (tradition attributed to Muhammad), [found] in the two reliable collections, Bukhari and Muslim, says:

"The Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until you fight the Jews.

The Jew will hide behind stones or trees.

Then the stones or trees will call:

'Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.'

Except the Gharqad tree [which will keep silent]."

Therefore it is no wonder that you see Gharqad [trees]

PMW is funded by the Michael Cherney Foundation. Cherney is an Uzbekistan-born Israeli who is wanted by Interpol for money laundering and international crime.

Cherney is closely associated with far right-wing Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who is also the founder and leader of Yisrael Beiteinu, a hard-line right-wing political party which is often called Israel's Soviet party. The CFI is an operation that collects tax-deductible American donations and funnels the money to some of the most extremist settler groups in the West Bank - including a lot of weapons and paramilitary equipment. The recipients include the West Bank yeshiva that is home to Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira. Shapira made headlines in 2009 when he published a book justifying the killing of gentile babies on the grounds that they might grow up to pose a threat to the Jewish State.

This should be considered "funding terror."

Tell us the video is a fake or that it does not represent yours and the majority of Palestinian views.. That should be made clear before the usual attack the source tactic - the content of the video is more important than the people who posted it.

... and do you think it was right for the video to be censored? I just watched it.. There is no nudity or violence in the video so I can only assume that the reason enough complaints were given to Google to take the video down was because people did not want the video being viewed for another reason....

In general I don’t believe in censorship, although I realize that there may be occasions when it may be warranted (legal reasons, etc.) I don’t know what specifically caused YouTube to pull this one PMW video and temporarily shut down the account so it couldn‘t upload more, because they don‘t say.

Still, it can’t be because Youtube wants to silence PMW, because all the other videos (which are all in a similar vein) weren’t disabled, and this particular video is already back up anyways.

But I disagree with you when you say that the content is more important than the people who disseminate it. You should always consider the source - this is a basic tenet of journalism as well as investigation, and imperative in looking at any report or claim.

Now if you pay careful attention to the short clip that is offered, it starts with some guy introducing the Sheikh. This warmup guy mentions the conflict going on, calls the enemy some bad names, and then does some cheerleading for the political party hosting the event.

Next the Sheikh comes out and talks some more about the conflict and the resistance, then he quotes a Hadith talking about End Times battles that he feels is relevant in the context of present-day events. Note that he specifically mentions settlements and colonies immediately after the quote, and relates them back to the quote. So I interpret his words as speaking about the conflict with the Israelis in context of the occupation and the settlements, and not about “The Jews” of the world in general.

Consider that many Israeli rabbis as well as Israeli leaders and IDF soldiers have used the term “Amalek” to describe Palestinian enemies, referencing Biblical tales of glorious battles with a fabled opponent of the past (who, according to Orthodox mitzvot, God orders them to exterminate.)

This also must be interpreted in the context of the conflict - it doesn‘t mean that all or most Israelis think all Palestinians are “Amalek” and should be exterminated. But you might find a few who do - like this guy, Rabbi Israel Hess

So my point is: PMW is a propaganda site that attempts to smear a religion and an ethnicity by using carefully cherry-picked material, sometimes mistranslated and almost always taken out of context, for the purpose of casting Palestinians as some sort of inherently bloodthirsty subhuman race. You will never see PMW offer any translations of anything that does not support this premise. Do you think this is by accident ?

Your list of names does not appear on any of the Wiki sites you linked. What was your source ? I just did a little Google, and all the matches were sites like Stormfront and David Duke.
