Live abroad and get married implications on a future K-3

I rarely post here, I read a bunch when I was pursuing a foreign woman

but it didn't work out between us.

I have a friend who I have never met in person only in

cyber space on a different forum. (it's really not me )

His situation is as follows.

He is an American man and has kids (don't know how many or ages).

He met a Ukrainian girl and wants to move permanently to Ukraine,

start a business marry her and live happily ever after. People have

done it, it's definitely not the easiest thing to do, but it has

been done.

1. What advice would you give him?

2. What if things didn't work out in Ukraine for whatever reason

what advice would you recommend regarding a K-3? would it be a good

back up plan in case his business or life in Ukraine has problems?

3. If his business and other income didn't exceed 125% of the poverty rate

then what are the consequences.

4. Child support? what if he fell behind?

5. Other miscellaneous advice, pitfall avoidance etc.

I will refer him to this thread, hopefully he will join and ask questions himself

and educate himself on these subjects.

I realized I asked for a lot of information. If you know the answer on just one thing

please go ahead and answer just the one thing. If there is a similar thread(s) with advice

please by all means provide a link.

This is do it yourself site, with emphasis on self. K3 is no longer a viable option. Your friend should seek his advice about immigration TO Ukraine, where people know about such things. For immigration TO the USA, he starts with the CR1/IR1 visa guide and the official instructions that come with the forms he would be filing. Then, we're here to answer specific questions about things he doesn't understand.
