I didn't stay overnight (should have) but can only tell you it's near Martin Place station so somewhere near there. This'll serve as a *bump* anyway :D

a lot of people seem to stay at the travel lodge (can't remember what street it's on but it's really close). My Aunt and i stayed at the mercure. It was very nice, quite cheap and i just caught a taxi in the morning. I probably could have walked but wasn't entirely sure where it was so i didn't want to risk it. atleast the taxi knew exactly where to drop me off :)

Hello fellow Australians :D

As we now have our NOA2, I would like to hear any suggestions regarding accomodation in Sydney.

Thanks everyone

The Travel lodge is in Phillip Street or there is somewhere in Chifley Sq as well, I think. World Square has a motel too and is very close by the Embassy. I'll be staying at the Mecure on George. It's a 20 minute walk from there to the Embassy. Stayed there recently and it was nice. The shuttle service from the airport can drop you at the motel and you can arrange a return via the conceirge as well. The shuttle is only a few dollars less than the trains but a LOT easier and goes to all the motels in the city. Mecure is also nearby to China town, nice place to eat, or Darling harbour has a lot of restaurants/cafes. The Monorail will take you round to Darling Harbour.

My Aunt and i stayed there so we had a double room and at the time we stayed there it cost us $170 for the night. Not sure how much other room sizes cost though.
