Filling out I-129F. Question about Birth Certificate

I'm filling out an I-129F and I've come across something that stumps me.

The copy of my birth certificate that I have is a replacement copy that I ordered from my home state back in August of 2007.

The following three dates are on my certificate; BIRTHDATE, DATE RECORD FILED, and DATE ISSUED.

The date issued is 08/30/2007, which is when I requested the replacement copy from my home state. I was born in 1975, and of course it states that on the certificate.

The I-129F asks for the following: Give number of certificate, date, and place it was issued. Is it actually looking for the date filed, which was in 1975, or the date my copy of the certificate was issued in 2007?

You were born in the US, so you do not fill out those parts. That info is for a naturalized USC. See the example form: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-129F.pdf

The date your copy was issued. 2007. They are asking for the date the CERTIFICATE was issued which is not the same as the date you were born.

If THEY have any questions they will refer to the copy you are providing them.

But the section for the certificate number, name, and place of issue is situated squarely under the Birth in the US and Naturalization sections. It doesn't tell me to fill it out only in the event I was naturalized.

Yeah, mine has one, too. It sure looks like they want that information there.

It's kind of nerve-wracking, because I've heard so many horror stories of petitions being delayed because of having some small little thing incorrect on a form.

Yes, it is situated under both check boxes, but doesn't apply if you were born in the US. I did not fill that part out, like the example form shows, and I had no RFEs and no problems. You already filled in where and when you were born. I do not think putting your birth certificate number there will hurt anything either though.
