Someone posted that the IRS transcripts are not acceptable. They want the 1040 at the Embassy.

Even though I have the IRS transcripts (showing I paid the IRS) do I have to have the 1040 ? I am a technology manager so I am no where near poverty. I am missing 2010's 1040 but I will be sending 2011 1040 to her as I will have time to file before her interview.

so u are a technology manager who is missing 2010 or did not file complete 1040 (since if you did, IRS can send you a copy). I think you are poverty. Otherwise, whats the difference between you and a so called "poor" person who didn't file 2010 1040 tax return?

-u should watch some of ur "word choices" when posting.

According to these instructions (below) the Transcripts are the preferred method. HOWEVER, the instructions below were authored by the US Consulate in Viet Nam, and I would check with the instructions posted on the Consulate for your particular country just to be sure.

Evidence of support: The petitioner must submit a complete original signed Form I-134, Affidavit of

Support for his/her principle applicant and a copy one for each accompanying applicant. This form is

also available at: http://www.uscis.gov . The original form I-134 must be accompanied by records of the

petitioner's income for the most recent tax year. The preferred record of income is the Complete Income

Tax Return Transcript from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) (formerly IRS Form 1722). However,

W-2s and a certified copy of a complete federal tax return (Form 1040), including all pertinent

schedules, might be acceptable in some cases.

Request IRS Transcripts they are accepted and were recommended by my attorney. you need the last 3 years and a letter from Employer showing your annual earnings and date started. Here's a simple example. http://www.path2usa.com/employment-verification-letter-for-us-visa

I have the IRS transcripts... I thought I read where someone said that you needed the 1040 as preferred. Maybe they were wrong. I ordered the IRS transcripts months ago. I should be good I hope ? I am just missing 2010 1040. I think I filed online and can't even find who I filed through. :bonk:

Looks like I will have to submit the latest 1040 as it says nothing about IRS transcripts in Manila.

This is from the Manila US Embassy.

Form I-134 Affidavit of Support: The I-134 Affidavit of Support is required for returning residents (SB-1), fiancé(e)s or spouses of U.S. citizens (K1, K3), children of K1 and K3 applicants, and applicants with special immigrant status. A copy of the sponsor's most recent Federal Income Tax Return (Form 1040) should accompany the I-134. Faxed copies of the ITR are acceptable.

Ya, I just found the same thing

Some of the stuff on the PI website for the K-1 is vague, I would ask some of the PI forum members before throwing in the towel. It doesnt make sense why they would want the full 1040, when all the applicable information is summarized in the transcript.

It's a test. Anybody can order a transcript, but only the petitioner could supply a copy of his actually filed return. Of course, for E-filers, all you can get is the transcript.

You don't need the 1040 from 2010 since you are requesting them from the IRS. Submit your transcripts only!

Submitting transcripts only in the Manila US Embassy could cause someone to not pass the interview. You need the 1040 if you want to be assured that you will pass.

They failed this guy for bringing IRS Transcripts only.

Doesnt maker sense to me, but little does with the K-1 paper chase.

Manila is a cakewalk compared to HCMC (Viet Nam), yet HCMC only requires the transcripts. Go figure?

Someone just posted this on my other thread in the Philippine forum.

"I sent transcripts for the last two years and there were no problems"

I am now beginning to believe they will allow IRS transcripts as long as you are not borderline income.
