I-864A question

Quick question - my income isn't currently enough so I'm using my father as a co-sponsor. I emailed my parents and asked them to send me the affidavit of support stuff. My dad sent me an I-864 with his and my mother's income both listed, and then an I-864A with my mother's income listed. They both make more than is needed on their own but they decided to fill out the I-864A because they file their taxes jointly. So my questions -

- Should I even be submitting an I-864A if my co-sponsor makes enough on his own?

- If I do submit an I-864A as well is it me (the spouse) that signs the I-864A as the "sponsor" or does the "co-sponsor" sign as the "sponsor"? (I'm pretty sure it's the co-sponsor since that's the person who is living with the household member on the I-864A but just want to make sure).

Thanks for the help :)

Yes you still need to submit your form and you each sign your own forms.

You also need the last 3 yrs of tax return transcripts for you and your co-sponsor.

You as the spouse are always the primary sponsor, even if you have no income at all. You need to fill in a I-864, NOT I-864A.

Thanks for the replies, I think I should have phrased my questions differently. I am definitely submitting my own I-864 and I have the last three years tax info for me, my mother, and my father. Since my co-sponsor (my father)filed his taxes jointly with my mother (household member)they filled out an I-864 (father) and I-864A (mother). Since my father makes enough on his own, is it ok that my co-sponsor (father) listed my mother's income as well on his I-864, or is this not allowed because my father makes enough on his own (the I-864A instructions seem to suggest that this isn't allowed, but it's unclear). If it is ok to still have my mother's income on my father's I-864 and submit an I-864A with my mother's info am I considered the "sponsor" on the I-864A or is my father? (the I-864A is an agreement between the sponsor and a person living with them that's helping with the income requirement so I'm thinking this will be my father, the co-sponsor). Basically I need to know if my parents have to send me some corrected forms or if I'm good with the ones I have.
