You only have to use that website to pick an interview date if—for some reason—they don't pick the date for you. But, that probably won't happen. You should get a letter or an email from the consulate with the date and time of your interview.

You will have to use that website to pick out an appointment to go to the ASC to get your fingerprints taken, etc. You'll also use it to get the tracking details of your visa once your interview completes.
