I petitioned my wife (entered with VISA but overstayed) and she received her green card. I also petitioned her two minor children, my stepchildren, with an I-130. The children were brought EWI into the country by a close relative of my wife surprising her thinking they were doing her a favor not realizing the situation they were putting her or the children in. However, can't go back in time and need to move forward. I am a U.S. citizen, my wife has a green card and I am awaiting to hear back soon for the I-130 submitted for both minor children in August 2011. From what I understand I will have to travel with the mom (my wife) and children to Juarez, MX. Can someone explain to me what the next step will be after the 1-130 gets approved? (hopefully) If someone has been through this process what is the step by step procedures after the I-130? What forms do I need to fill out, etc. Any help, advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

did you file an i130 for each of them? petitions for stepchildren are filed separatly. they will go through consular processing at the American Consulate in their country of origin. they cannot adjust status in the US because they entered ileglly to the country.

now what about their father? does she have custody of the children, is the father in the picture? if he is, will he sign the permission for them to enter the US or does she have full custody and doesn't need permission from the father?

the approved i130 will be sent to the NVC or National Visa Center, they will contact you soon after.

Father has never been in children's lives and the mother has full custody.

This kids must return to Mexico. Since they are minors the EWI won't hurt them but it and their time in the US must be disclosed or it could come back to unravel their status in the future. If they are in the US 6 months after their 18th birthdays then they will start to accumulate unlawful presence ans will be dealt consequences of that.

Does anyone have a copy of a letter that USCIS said was ok so that i can go off that?

How about starting your own thread since your question is unrelated to the OP's situation. Thread hijacking is frowned upon here.
