Hi everyone.

I`m new here on Visa journey. i`m brazilian living in Canada for 22 months, I`m caregiver and i have not applied for PR. My fiance and I applied for k1 visa 3 months ago. He American and lives in USA. My status as a worker (WP) will expire in 2014. Did anyone have their visa approved without having a PR? Is a requirement to be a permanent resident in Canada so you can apply for the k1 visa? Please help me explaining to me if you know anything about. I understand that any case is different. Thanks!

No being a PR of Canada is not a requirement.

The requirement to interview in Canada is that you must be legally living in the country on a valid visa, work / student etc. You will be required to show proof that you are legally living and working in Canada to have your interview there.
