Hi everyone,

My husband had his interview on the 30th of September. He passed his interview, but they said he will get his passport within 3 months. I am just wondering why do they need another 3 months when the whole process already took so long. He had all his documents, and there was nothing that they needed. They took his interview and told him that he passed and will receive his passport within 3 months. Is the 3 months time limit normal? Because I know someone really close to my family and the person received her passport the next week. I called the DOS and his casefile status is always under administrative processing. Is there anywhere else I can call and ask about the case?

I will really appreciate all the help.

Thanks,

Thanks,

it seems that most Pakistani males go in to AP where as females dont and that is why your family friend got her visa the next week. unfortunately there is no time limit for AP so all you can do is wait now.

good luck

Thanks,

It's good that he was approved and told his visa will come within 3 months. However, while they are checking his background which typically all male pakistanis go thru as well as most from any MENA country, it may take a little longer than they expected. It's not as simple as putting his name in right away and getting the results.. he has wait his turn to have his check done so to speak.

Don't worry this is very normal for AP and DOS will not ever tell you exactly what's happening in his case... it will either be pending or complete. Sometimes they can tell you updates were done but they usually never tell you what they were.

Only other thing you can do is email the embassy and inquire about it from there. Also after @ 6 months you can ask a congressman to make an inquiry sometimes they will tell them a little bit more info but usually not too much.

Hope you see the passport with visa soon!

Thanks,

My husbans interview was also in september and CO told him that it could take 4 weeks, 8 weeks or four months. It has been more than four months now but we are still waiting. They never asked for any further documents from us. I don't know when cases go on AP if they are approved already or when AP gets completed.

But they never tell the right wait time for AP. It could be more or less.

We never got thru so I couldnt tell you if thats what response we would have received but I can tell you that their response to emails are just canned responses usually..our congressman did get a little more info saying we were in normal processing but that was all we got.

Wishing you luck! and keep the New Islamabad AP tracker up to date with your case as well...
