Hi everyone,

just wanted to share my Interview experience in Cleveland on 1/12/2012.

Appointment was scheduled at 2:30, we walked in around 2 and gave our appointment letter at the window. Waited around 15-20 minutes and were called in for interview by a male officer. He was really friendly and joked around all the time. He told us he was going to record the interview and started going through the file. He asked us how we met, how many times we met before we got married. What date was the wedding, where it took place, etc. Then he asked to look at our wedding pictures. He picked out a random picture and asked me who is that guy in that picture. Then i saw him open the file and he wrote on the i-485 "Now Approved". I thought he wrote "not approved" and my heart sank but i kept my composure. Then he said he would ask me some questions. He asked me the questions that were listed in -i485 and i answered them all correctly. Then he asked me to show him some financial documents that both me and my wife were joint account holders. I put out my bank statements from both the bank accounts we have, joint car insurance policy, joint lease to the apartment and our cable bill. Then he asked me if my status was still valid. I told him that i am still on a f-1 visa with a valid I-20. He then asked for my I-20 and looked through it. He asked me again if the status was valid and that i didnt skip my student status in the middle of any semesters or when i changed schools. I told him no. Then he said that everything looked good and that he was going to approve my application and told me about the two year conditional GC and that my card should be in the mail in two to three weeks since he was going to run a background check on me first.

We were out of the building before 3 o clock. Finally the wait is over. I am approved!!! Thanks everybody on VJ forum for sharing your experiences. Hopefully my experience helps out somebody else too.

i received an email from USCIS that reads:

On January 12, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
