I just got engaged to a lady in Manila and am ready to start the K-1 process. Does anyone know of a GOOD attorney they can recommend, one that is detailed, returns phone calls and ideally has some connections in Manila in case there are any problems?

I don't think "Connections" will work since you are dealing with US government and not the crooks of Philippine government. Filing K-1 visa is quite easy and no need for an attorney since they can't really do anything much. You just need to have all the documents and there's a very vivid steps in this website that you can follow.

No need for an attorney for a K-1 unless you want to throw thousand(s) of dollars away. You'll have to do most of the work yourself anyway. I did the whole K-1 and AOS, it was no problem. Just follow the guides on VJ and quadruple-check for accuracy on all forms.
