I just mailed my original I-485 submission to the Chicago lockbox. I included my EAD and AP in the package at the end. I read in a couple of places that it was alrigt to send it all together, and the fee for them would be waived, making them free in you apply all together. The wonderful lady who has been helping me with the final steps told me that all 3 are meant to be sent to different places therefore mailed seperatley. Did anyone do it the same as me? Did I do this wrong!?

Wrong.

They are all sent together to the same place. You do not mail them to different places.

You did it correctly.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

maybe she meant that they are mailed together to the Chicago lockbox but then they are distributed to different service centers

but as said, they aren't mailed separatly. everything goes to Chicago.

ohhhh wait...so was i meant to add in individual cover letters and seperate photocopies of my information for the EAD and AP?

Yes each one is separate as a form - evidence for each one.

EAD = 2 passport photos photocopy of K-1 and I-94 etc

AP = 2 passport photos photocopy of K-1 and I-94 etc

You follow the instructions on each form include what is needed with cover letter and mail them with the main AOS application.

They will send a RFE for anything missing. A cover letter is not a required document. Relax :)

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

i guess i will have to resend those documents, i though that because i was filing it with the I485 it was all considered one package.

You did right, because if you filed this document separately you have to wait to get your NOA,receipt as evidence of your I-485. so you dont have to pay for your AP/EAD.

That's exactly what I explained in numerous emails to her. I sent her the template to the 3 cover letters that go with each section with instructions. NEVER did I tell her they went in different envelopes.

didnt mean to offend anyone, i literally meant 'the wonderful lady' who was helping me. i am new to this site and wasnt sure if it would be appreciated of me to use personal names on here.

sorry for any confusion everyone i meant in the email she sent me I HAD ASSUMED she A) filed her EAD and AP at a different time than her i485, which i am aware some people decided to file that way and B)by 'different places' i was referring to the requests all being sent to different offices in the building, and in no way meant that she had told me to use separate envelopes.

Ill be sure to be more clear in future.

Thanks for clarifying that :) ....I do help a lot of people when I can and I would hate for people to think I was giving them wrong information. I thought I had made myself clear in the emails. Hope all goes well with what you sent.
